Restaurant Review: Patzeria Pizza, Times Square NYC
Patzeria Pizza became my go-to spot during my week-long stay in Times Square—literally just a one-minute walk from my hotel, which made it incredibly convenient. I ended up stopping by five times in seven days!
They offer a huge variety of pizza slices, and every time you order, they pop your slice into the oven to warm it up. While most of the time the result was delicious, a couple of slices came out slightly overcooked with a hard, dark crust. Still, the flavors kept me coming back.
My favorites were the pepperoni, beef, sausage, and bacon slice—loaded with meat and great flavor. I also tried the sausage with peppers and onions, which was generously piled with sausage and made for a hearty bite. Their cheese pizza was another standout—simple, classic, and satisfying.
My granddaughter ordered the fettuccine Alfredo one night, and she raved about it, calling it the best she’s ever had. It came with a side of garlic bread that hit the spot.
Prices were reasonable: a cheese slice ran about $4–$5, and my combo of a meat-heavy slice with a can of Coke was around $9–$10. They also offer a full Italian menu, which we only began to explore.
Seating is limited, with a small indoor counter and a few tables outside under a covered sidewalk space. Unfortunately, the tables weren’t always the cleanest, and garbage sometimes piled up—definitely something they could improve.
All that said, the fast service, solid food, and unbeatable location made this a reliable and tasty option. Not perfect, but definitely worth a visit if you're...
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Edison, next door to this pizza place. On the plus side, their pizza is pretty good. If you stop here, order pizza and they have it available, I think you'll be happy. My experience is mixed. I ordered food here 3 times in the one week I spent in NY. First time was great. I ordered multiple slices of pepperoni pizza, white pizza, and knots. My family was happy with the food and while the price was double what I'd pay at home, I understood that the theater district was pricey. My only initial complaint is that their boxes are similar to 1-ply donut boxes, and not corrugated cardboard, which is the norm in Western states.
I returned for a couple slices to-go a few days later. If you aren't ordering a full pizza or a large order, they don't provide a box. The $5.80 slice of white pizza slipped off their plate after my daughter was 5 feet from the shop and they didn't care. They didn't have more white pizza available and were not going to make more. If you have a daughter with food issues/preferences, you'll know that this was a vacation ruining emergency... Patzeria didn't care, wouldn't make more or do anything to help. I had to find another pizza place with white pizza.
Ya.... they make good food, but they don't package it well and they don't care and won't take care of you if there's an issue.
Not that it bothered me much and this is serious nitpicking... but every time I went here, I felt like I walked into an Italian kitchen and they didn't speak much English. It was as if I was a foreigner...
Read moreI ordered $80 worth of food from them to my hotel while I was visiting New York... It included 3 desserts worth $10.50. They called to say that one of the three deserts was out of stock and asked if I'd like something else. I said no, and then they said "wait, it just came" and hung up. The food came, they handed me the bags, and they left. Then I notices that instead of the $10.50 worth of desserts, they had put in 3 cookies that they claim are worth $2 each. First of all, $6 worth of stuff doesn't replace $10.50 worth of stuff. And secondly, we didn't want chocolate chip cookies! I called slice, who called the pizza place and connected us. The pizza place said that they were out of the cake and just forgot the other two. I said I don't want the cookies, they can issue a refund or bring me what I paid for. They said they would come back to pick up the cookies and then issue a refund. Well they didn't come back or issue the refund. Two days later, I left the cookies in the hotel as I checked out, and I filed a complaint with my credit card. This company is crooked and petty. They think they can just cheat people and get away with it! If they fight with me over the credit card refund, I'll copy this review to every...
