The food is good even though it's pricey, but the workers' attitude is causing this rating to be low. I don't care how good your food is or how cute your shop is, if the workers are not nice, you deserve a low rating.
This is not the first encounter as I've come in here several times over the years, living in the neighborhood. The workers give racist vibes. They are nice to the Caucasians who order before and after me. Yet not as welcoming when I order. Sorry I come in here as a person of color, looking like I have no money, but you have a long way to go in learning to never judge a book by its cover. I have had enough of this type of treatment, so I am writing this review.
I came in after a difficult day of work, remembering that I had to buy a cupcake with little to no icing or a muffin to bring to Central America the next day (yes, Central America) for my daughter's 24th birthday. We are meeting for a quick vacation, and I thought it would be nice to just give her a little cupcake right when I see her.
Once again, same treatment. From me, a nice smile, saying 'hello how are you today.' From the worker, no smile, 'what can I get you.' She placed the food in paper bags and just as she was going to ring me up, she rang up some other person's order who came out of the bathroom.
She rang mine up, I paid with my card, and before the transaction was even done, she walked away. I walked out of the restaurant, and there was no thank you, no have a good day, no other type of interaction whatsoever. I paid $10 for 2 items and the worst customer service at this place by far.
Regardless of this girl's attitude, this little cupcake is in a nice little container, and is on the way to Central America with me, and I will give it to my daughter as I hug her and tell her...
Read moreI have been buying cupcakes and Carrot cake slices for 3 years now religiously because they are my fave. BUT This place is going downhill very fast. The last couple of times in, customer service from the female employees has been horrific! Even with that said, Today’s visit at 5:35PM by far takes the cake (no pun intended) Went in to buy a carrot cake as usual, and was greeted good by a young lady. I proceeded to ask her for the slice, but then I noticed that the slice was cut very wrong. The top layer was missing more than half of its contents. (You can tell the previous slices had been cut wrong) I the. Proceed to tell the girl that I apologize but the slice is all messed up, can I just get a fresh slice since I see there is a new uncut cake right behind her. She replied by telling me that “can’t cut that one until we sell all the slices”, which I replied with; I got you but you have to admit that this slice is small and messed up. She replied by telling me “I agree, so just get a cupcake instead” I didn’t want a cupcake so I told her, hey can I just get a discount on this slice since it’s all messed up, I feel wrong paying full price having bought so many slices over the years. She said “nope” And I said wow!
Let me get this straight You have no issue selling an unsuspecting customer something of horrible quality which you are aware of. BUT won’t budge on “cutting new cakes”, or giving a discount for poor quality. I guess it’s a one way street where the customer is the one that suffers.
I love my cakes and cupcakes and I’ll def miss them. But you charge a price and we pay it, I expect to get what I pay for....
Read moreUpon my husband's recent visit to the bakery to order a whole carrot cake for his aunt's birthday, he encountered a disappointingly rigid and unaccommodating response from the staff. Despite his polite request to add icing around the sides of the cake for a more complete presentation (offering to pay extra for the modification), the salespeople adamantly stated that such a simple customization was not feasible. Even after multiple attempts to escalate the request to a supervisor, baker, or owner, the staff remained unyielding, treating the request as if he was asking something so unreasonable as altering the recipe itself.
The frustrating lack of flexibility and willingness to accommodate a customer's reasonable request not only left my husband dissatisfied but also showcased a concerning lack of customer-centric service. Furthermore, I’ve noticed they’ve downsized their cupcakes, increased prices, and seemingly altered the original recipe, resulting in a discernible decline in the quality and taste of their products. This transition from quality-focused offerings to subpar service and products, all while leveraging previous reputation paints a grim picture of a business that has lost touch with what made it successful in the first place.
Ultimately, this experience has driven me to seek out other establishments that prioritize the customer and strive to deliver exceptional service and products. It is disappointing to witness the decline of a once-reputable bakery that now fails to uphold the standards that once...
