Al Horno Lean Mexican Kitchen — Restaurant in New York

I just want to make a quick note that I order from here once maybe twice a month so far for the last year. We always get the same thing, vegan quesadilla with both cheeses and chorizo and a side of guacamole and chips. Our order always comes pretty quick and we’ve never had any issues.

This 3 star review which really should be 2 would be for our last order and the first woman who “helped” us over the phone. They delivered a quesadilla with vegan steak and bell peppers. I called to let her know and that I can send her a picture of the order. She responded condescendingly “where are you going to send the picture to?” …. I don’t know lady! The BUSINESS EMAIL? A text to your phone?! I wasn’t at home and my boyfriend had to rush out and wouldn’t be back until the morning. Basically they needed the wrong order back to provide the correct order as if we wanted to eat something we didn’t order… or… we were trying to steal from them? We figured out his morning schedule and basically they redelivered order the next morning (still not what we originally ordered because they ran out of chorizo and didn’t restock knowing they would need to make a chorizo quesadilla the next morning) and we gave them the original order back.

As somewhat regular customers, this was really disappointing. Again, we’ve always loved the food and just hope the next time the mistake was on their end, that we’re not treated like we’re trying to steal food meanwhile we’ve been supporters since we discovered this bay...

The food was amazing. It's looks like a small takeout Mexican spot, but they do have indoor seating and they do provide table service. We ordered the buffalo chicken burrito on salad, corn con queso, a steak quesadilla, and steak taco, and the acai smoothie. Everything was fresh and delicious, and best of all, they do gluten free accommodations for nearly everything! One of my party members has a gluten allergy so the staff prepared everything gluten free.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Everything we ordered came out to about $52 after tax. For all that we ordered and how good it was, that wasn't unreasonable at all.

They do delivery and take out as well.

Food is delicious, but the delivery person is deplorable. He's rude and acts like u owe him something. He litters in the building when u ask him anything he acts like he doesn't know anything but acts like a complete child when u try and speak to him like an adult. He's disrespectful and puts the order on the ground instead of handing it to you... and it's really unfortunate but that ruins the experience for me. Why do I want someone so rude and seemingly malicious to handle my food.... even if its just as a delivery person 😒 don't put that...
