Read moreI've developed much respect for the Locksmith over the few years I've lived in the hood. Pre-COVID it was lunch place, brunch place, dinner place, craft beer bar and small club on weekend nights. It also hosted We Run Uptown on a Monday night.
During the pandemic Locksmith was one of the only places in the neighbourhood that stayed open the entire time. They completely changed their business model and also incorporated delivery of needed items in partnership with a bodega so that customers could get toilet paper etc. with their lunch order. Stopping by for a take out henny colada or craft beer made my day in the early pandemic months. They're very ingrained in the community and the community rallied around them. The staff were resilient and positive through it all.
Their food at the moment is pub food, burgers and Peruvian. They've got good craft beers and also do cocktails and general full service for drinks. I hope in future there will be more vegan and vegetarian items again, but appreciate that they keep the menu fresh and need to change up what isn't resonating. I hope in the near future they'll be hosting runners again on Mondays.
Thanks Locksmith. You're a mainstay in the neighborhood and have shone through this pandemic. I am truly impressed and will continue to...
Read moreGood food but the staff is rude. I’ve lived around the neighborhood for a while and I honestly don’t understand why the poor customer service? I’m never one to complain and trust me I never do but this is the only time I must voice my opinion cause I’m just astonished by the approach they choose to answer their customer. I had ran into a problem with Grubhub so I decided to call them and I got shut down right away, trying to explain to them that the app wouldn’t let me and when I arrived to the restaurant I see the woman behind the counter taking a order over the phone. I mentioned it to the women next to me and she raised and eyebrow, agreeing with me how unfair. And I calmly waited for my food and the woman with whom I’ve shared my interaction with she had gotten her food way before me, when she ordered last. I understand that making orders can relate working stressful but I would rather have my customer feel welcomed rather than shoved off to the side for 26 minutes and not show them the appreciation of their hard earned dollars. I don’t expect anything to happen not do I wanna abt to be considered as bitter but you need to just change how your staff approaches people cause at the end of the day we all are...
