Legacy Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New York

Came to NYC for my birthday & decided to visit Legacy because everyone on TikTok was raving about it.

Easily 2/10 experience & they only get 2 because the server was cool.

Surprisingly the restaurant was super small and empty. I went to go use the bathroom and noticed there was a really pretty flower wall with a mirror. So being it was my birthday weekend & I was dressed up, I wanted to take pictures. It was like 2 men (who I’m assuming worked there because they were going to the kitchen/bar area) who stood there watching me take pics looking at me AND my sister funny ….. Making it very uncomfortable. We used the bathroom and went back to the table cool.

The Calamari comes out… 10/10. Finally after waiting FOREVER on our food, mind you, only two ppl in the restaurant aside from 2-3 ppl at the bar smoking hookah. Our food comes out. I ordered Salmon & Mashed potatoes….

The nastiest Salmon & mashed potatoes I have ever had in my life. It didn’t even look good… I tried to take a picture and had to delete it because it just LOOKED NASTY…. The ends of it was BURNT. & tasted fishy as hell. Yuck. Didn’t even bother sending it back because I waited forever and was hungry as hell. If the Legacy is mediocre and disappointing then they are on the track. Applebees makes better tasting better quality food. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff are friendly and accommodating however the food was terrible. I don’t know what was worse the flavor or the fact that it’s over priced and mislabeled. I ordered 2 guacamole it costs $15 each for 20 home fried tortilla chips with not even 1/4 cup of guacamole. The guacamole served has zero salt, no lime, and well almost no guac! I ordered beef pinchos/skewers supposed to come in a set of 3 and only was served 2, they still tried to charge me for the 3 at $16. I could’ve gotten more meat with better flavor from the pincho lady on Isham and Sherman. I ordered camarones al ajillo/garlic shrimp and it was bland watered down garlic sauce. My friend ordered salmon with mashed potatoes and the mashed potatoes tasted like they boiled the potatoes with skins on in dirty water. The salmon was gross. She couldn’t eat her food. The staff did try to be accommodating and friendly but they were not the ones cooking. Food is over priced, low quality, terrible flavor, small portions . I will never return again. This was a last minute go to. But turned into we will go at least 2 x a month more if we lived out that way. When we arrived. We had no ideas it was still happy hour/ brunch. Whatever it was our drinks were half. Apps were as well. We had 7 minutes to order. APRIL TOOK CARE of our order. She is a nice sweet young lady. Very attentive to me and my family. She gave good suggestions and she made sure we were satisfied throughout our eating experience. Everything was amazing. The food was perfect. Calamari not over cooked. Lamb chops seasond perfect. Mash potatoes perfect. The drinks were amazing. My family ordered streaks. Amazing as well. Then my cousin asked for the hookah. Thst was almost whst sealed the deal. But April had them surprise Mr with a happy Birthday s/o. 🥰 They put a cape a crown and a wand on me. It was the Best night in a long time. Then Jordan came out. To make sure we were satisfied.
