We were looking for something new and different. One of the family members has a thing for Bibimbop. I have been told several times that the only place to get the best Bibimbop was a place in Washington DC. A family member suggested we give Loopy's a try. The venue was close by, so we stopped in for a bite. Looking at the menu there did not seem to be a huge selection. The restaurant is somewhat small but has a cozy atmosphere. Jazz music was being streamed at the time which was quite pleasant. Quite a few folks were picking up take out so the food must be good. We ordered Summer Rolls, Beef Bibimbop with Yum Yum sauce and a side of Pickled Daikon Radish, Spicy Pork Platter with vegetable fried rice and I chose tiger sauce. The platter came with a salad and you get to choose aside. I chose kimchi (medium spicy). The person taking our order was very friendly and explained the different options and did not rush us through for the order. I was told the Bibimbop was amazing and better than the restaurant in Washing DC. The fried egg made it amazing. The Spicy port Platter was absolutely delicious. The rice and salad were equally delicious. The Summer rolls were amazing. I am a fan of those. There are huge with crispy vegetables and shrimp. The vegetables have been marinaded and are fantastic. I am not sure what the sauce is that comes with it (possibly sesame sauce) but very good. During our meal, the same person who took our order came by to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Great customer service which is very much appreciated. The food was so delicious that we order some take-out for the next days' lunch. We ordered another Bimbibop but this time with Shrimp and yum yum sauce. I ordered the Galbi 3 piece with fried vegetable rice and kimchi for a side dish. We also added two orders of summer rolls. The Galbi took some time because it was made fresh but well worth the wait. As I picked up our order to-go the person to bring it to us asked if I was going to have the Galbi to which I replied I am. He said you are going to love it! Next day lunchtime. I warmed up the Galbi, vegetable fried rice. Wow!! I do not know what marinade they used but it is the best Galbi I have tried to date. I have a couple of different places I go to, but this so far is fantastic. Jucy, tender, and flavorful. I will be back. This will be my go-to meal and since the place is close by we will be coming by often. Again I was told the Bimbibop was amazing.

Oh, Loopy’s. How I love thee. Let me count the ways: 1. Top quality food 2. Top quality and friendly service! 3. Nice atmosphere I was a regular at Loopy’s back when they were in Northern Virginia. The community there was so sad to hear that the family who owns Loopy’s was moving to New York and closing shop. On a recent trip in New York I decided to look them up, only to find that they reopened Loopy’s here! I changed my dinner plans that night just so I could make it out to have the delicious food and say hi to the family. They recognized me! I got the kim bop. The quality is the same as I remember-great! There were some ladies who looked like they got bibimbap, and they said it was delicious. Some dishes I sampled in the Virginia location: the bibimbap; the fusion burrito; the platter; and the cheesesteak. All great. Don’t forget to try the specials! And don’t forget to leave a review if you like it ;)

The food was really delicious however I do have to say something about one of the workers asking a customer to leave a tip. While I do understand that tips are a way of life, you should not run after a customer and tell them "it is customary to leave a tip". If they didn't want to leave one, they shouldn't be pressured to leave one. This did not happen to me, but I overheard it while eating. That is why I knocked it down to overall 4/5. While the food was delicious, that experience did sour me. That is poor customer service. I work in the service industry and we would be lambasted if we ever did this to a customer.

EDITED VERSION AFTER SEEING THE OWNER’S NONSENSE REPLY

I am having enough of this. First of all, your lovely wife did not, NEVER, tell me a word about this restroom not being open to the public since day one. I thought it was open for customers and if I knew, I would never even ask for using it since my office is just blocks away. Since I thought the restroom was open for customers, of course I didn’t ask the second time cause why would I if I already used it once?? From the very beginning she has not even said a word or expressing to me that I couldn’t use the bathroom. The only reason I wanted to use your bathroom was that your pita was too messy and the sauces were all on my hands. Second of all, I was being so polite, asking if I could use the bathroom to you today, and the audacity for you to say that I was “demanding” to use it? Lastly, how dare that you even mentioned about me bringing the drink, is this against the law to bring my own drink if I dine at your place? You think you’re some kinda fine dining places or Michelin restaurants? Also you’ve NEVER even told me that I couldn’t bring my own drinks and now talking about this on here? Seriously?? You have mouths on you and can communicate properly correct? Look at your replies to other customers who gave you bad reviews, pure contrast to mine! The language and tone you’re using is NOT how you treat customers and even human being in general. Your business will never prosper if you behave like this. PERIOD.

ORIGINAL COMMENTS Okay I do not usually leave a review like this, but this is really pissing me off. I have been a regular customer here at this place, and to be honest the food tastes great and the price is affordable, everything has been perfect until today. Yesterday I came in for lunch and the owner's wife was there. After lunch I asked if I could use the bathroom, she said yes and then literally guided me there. It's deep down in the hallway. And then today after lunch, I asked the owner himself if I could go in to wash my hand, he told me it's not open to the public, and then he also shared with me that his wife told him I was using the bathroom without her permission. I was sooo mad since how the world I would know if there was a bathroom AT ALL if she did not lead me there??? I would NEVER go to this restaurant again after being...
