Hello Madras Dosa Co. Team,

I want to bring to your urgent attention the shocking experience I had at your Rockefeller Center location today. I ordered the 3-piece uttapam ($17 plus tax), and what was served to me were three paper-thin discs that looked and tasted like dosa, not uttapam.

This is not a small matter of inconsistency — it is a complete misrepresentation of what the dish is supposed to be. On 8/15, I had the exact same order at your 41st Street branch, and the uttapam there was exactly as it should be: thick, fluffy, and satisfying. Today’s version was unrecognizable, unacceptable, and frankly insulting to customers who know authentic South Indian food.

If such glaring inconsistency continues between your branches, it will not take long before word spreads and customers stop trusting your brand. At $17 a plate, guests deserve authenticity and consistency. Serving dosa and calling it uttapam is not just poor quality it risks the credibility of your entire business.

I strongly urge you to immediately address this quality issue with your Rockefeller Center kitchen staff. If customers repeatedly encounter this kind of experience, it will only drive them away and hurt your reputation in a very competitive food scene.

I came to Madras Dosa Co. with high expectations, but I left deeply disappointed. Please take this feedback seriously if you want to maintain the trust and loyalty of...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Indian restaurant Madras Dosa and Co., and I have to say—it’s a true gem for South Indian cuisine lovers in the heart of New York. The dosas were perfectly crisp, the sambar was rich and flavorful, and the chutneys added the right balance of spice and freshness. Each dish felt authentic, like a taste of South India in every bite.

But the real highlight was the masala tea. Warm, aromatic, and spiced just right—it was the perfect way to end the meal. You can tell they put a lot of care into their recipes and ingredients.

The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Whether you’re familiar with South Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit. Highly...

That was my birthday treat for my friends We were 6 and we ordered pav bhaji, egg salad sandwiches cheesesteak dosa, lamb dosa, idly and Vada . Vada was crispy and fluffy inside which was a magic. Cheesesteak dosa I have to mention anyway which was flavored with the blend of masala and cheese with chopped onion… bhaji was perfect for me with the consistency and the well grilled buttered buns were awesome… Egg salad sandwich is the best part The cheese was well melted and the base which is the egg salad was sooooo delicious and i can’t believe that I finished it with in a single minute.. staff were so friendly and my friends were happy too.. keep going with the great food and service...

I love the concept of this chain. But the food and the cleanliness of the dining area fell short. The tables were dirty and there was rubbish all over the floor. More important, while the Dosas were super pretty for your Instagram shot, mine was overcooked to over crispy. And, while I don’t know the traditional way of serving these, it surprised me that the filling wasn’t spread out at all. Kind of like having a sandwich that only has the filling on a third of the bread. The sauces were fantastic. The dosa was mediocre. The Chana filling was bland and less than ordinary. There is a lot of potential here, but this experience fell short.

After a long morning in NYC, finding this place for lunch felt like a blessings. It's in the food court of Rockefeller center. We had ordered dishes like Masala dosa, Onion samosas, samosa chaat, spicy Aloo matar sandwich, idli and shambhar and medu vada. Besides the medu vada all food was delicious and full of authentic Indian flavors. Medu vada were not cooked properly from the inside. I have become a fan of their south Indian food, especially their sambhar and chutney. The staff was very professional and ambience was great. We will surely return to this restaurant whenever back in the city.

Loved the food. We came with 2 fussy kids and they loved it so 5 stars in our books. The spices were flavoursome which was impressive - not too spicy or chilly - just right for the tummy The varieties of dosas was impressive. All made then and there in front of you :) The idlis were fluffy and real nice. The accompaniments like sambhar, podis were as if made in india so brilliant. The chats were nice too. Best part - the staff who were happy , helpful and awesome. TONY, the chef making the dosas was particularly amazing and helpful. This is our 3rd visit here in our holiday trip
