Mai's Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in New York

When I’m in the area, I come here. I love Vietnamese food and I’m happy my wife does too. The restaurant is a store front, street parking is pretty easy which is a big plus. Once inside it’s spotless and nicely decorated. Our waitress took us to our table went over the menu and we were off! Today we started off with Summer Rolls which were made to order and very fresh and tasty. I really liked the dipping sauce. For my main dish I had the Cubed Beef over greens. The beef was tender and had a lot of flavor and the greens complimented the dish. My wife chose the grilled pork chop combo over rice and really enjoyed it. I had a piece of her pork chop and it was everything you would expect..We both had Vietnamese coffee with our meal it was strong with creamy finish I live in Suffolk County where the Vietnamese food is universally bland. I was so excited to finally try this restaurant, and to see a new Vietnamese spot in northern Bay Ridge! I've been here four times, and have even taken family who were in town visiting. Each time I've gone, the pho has been consistently delicious. The pho broth has this beautiful clear color, rather than being oily and heavy. I've ordered the one with well-cooked beef and raw beef. I really liked their popcorn chicken appetizer. The staff were friendly and attentive. The place is clean because it's new!

Some notes: Unfortunately, I thought their fried spring rolls were just OK. They weren't as crispy, large, and juicy as I prefer. I'd skip these and get another appetizer. And, unfortunately, the last time I went, their was a faint (garbage?) odor in the dining area, which was unappetizing. However, it was just...

First time coming here and the service is amazing. The staff here are so nice and they also have an ongoing promotion where you get spring rolls if you spend more than $30, they were very nice to switch the appetizer to the Shrimp Summer Rolls!

We ordered the regular beef noodle soup and it tasted amazing! It didn’t taste like it had too much MSG in it which is perfect. For appetizers we got popcorn chicken and beef satay, and we got the shrimp summer rolls for free as part of the promotion. The popcorn chicken tasted very crispy and the beef in the beef satay was very soft and tender. The summer rolls tasted very fresh and the sauces paired with each appetizer tasted amazing and authentic.
