My Thai Cafe — Restaurant in New York

I went here last week with the rest of my family... There were about 5 of us in total. I had such high hopes and I read so many great reviews about this place. A lot of the reviews mention the thai pancake.. I had some and I felt like I was eating a sponge soaked in oil it was so vile.

We had the mango chicken.. Shrimp pad Thai. One of the Malaysian fried rice. And the green curry. I was not impressed at all. The portion sizes were very decent... The curry was so spicy I could barely eat it even though I told them I only wanted it mild. We had the calamari which was so oily..

It seemed to be a recurring theme that everything was greasy. I was so disappointed most of us left our food. When they came to pick up the plates barely anything was eaten but the wait staff said nothing.

I paid even though I honestly did not want to. Do not recommend this...

I was excited about trying a new Thai place when I Googled this one and it had good reviews, but I'm really disappointed. I got a grilled beef salad to go and it basically was a box full of spring mix lettuce and a few pieces of beef scattered in there.

I have been eating at various Thai restaurants for about 13 years and I've never had such a boring awful beef salad. This was by far the absolute worst. There was barely any beef and it seriously was just a box full of spring mix with some dressing on it.

I wish I could get my $9 back because I think it would be better spent at a salad from Wendy's

What a waste of my dinner break from work. So...

Food is disgusting. Since there were so many other good reviews I thought the food would be at least decent, but it was terrible. I forgot to take pictures during our visit. My husband got chicken and it tasted like it was freezer burned and then boiled. I got shrimp that was not actual shrimp, but those frozen chewy ones you see in the supermarket. We should've been more suspicious as we were the only ones there and no deliveries going in/out. Only reason I give 2 and not 1 star is because I've actually had worse, but still would never recommend this place. If you want good Thai food, go to Sky Ice near the Barclay's...
