What an atmospheric tea shop!!!!! We stumbled across this browsing around downtown and my god what a gorgeous store. They have endless types of teas that you can blend into tons of combinations, as well as aromatic coffee and more!! I got some tea for my sister, coffee for my brother, chocolate covered espresso beans for myself, and the absolute best mint tea blend I’ve ever had in my life. It is so sharp, so clear, and so refreshing- it literally makes my breath fresher. Just smelling the bag wakes me up! It’s been a year and I haven’t finished the leaves and they are still potent even before the hot water hits them. I dream of going back every time I’m in the city, but it’s a bit far downtown for when I’m just in midtown. Highly, highly recommend for souvenirs if you’re visiting, for restocking if you live anywhere nearby and like hot drinks, or for an actual drink if you’re in the area for any reason. Favorite tea shop in NY 🄰 (if only there was a bookstore upstairs šŸ˜±šŸ˜šŸŖ¦)

I drink A LOT of tea. I'm talking at least eight cups a day. I knew when I came home to visit, I needed tea and so I decided to check this place out since it was close to where I was staying. I'm trying not to be too provincial about my rating, because it's clear to me that New Yorkers pay a lot more for fresh loose leaf than I'm accustomed to paying in other parts of the country. But when you get past that part, it's a nice enough place with a large selection of teas. The system is somewhat inefficient. You come in, there's a long line (when I came in) and then someone goes to fetch your tea for you once it's your turn to order. It's efficient in a sense and everyone is polite enough, but it's a bit clunky if you've been to any other kind of tea store in a (less populated) different place.

So I guess the verdict is, it's nice enough. But a bit on the pricey side and if you're a newcomer to loose-leaf tea looking for a selection, this is probably not the first place I'd recommend because it's daunting and not especially inviting. But for my purposes, it got the job done. Especially if you need loose-leaf tea and are staying in Jersey, because it's literally a block from the PATH. (There's also Indian and Thai across the street. An...

This is my favorite tea shop in NYC. I've been coming here for years now. The loose leaf teas are reasonably priced. You're looking at the whole range of teas, from $ to $$$. It's a great place to buy 1/4 lb of different teas to try things out at home. I'm not sure about the coffee, but I've once encountered a couple that comes here regularly from upstate, just to stock up on coffee. So that says something good about it.

As for the service, they're an excellent NYC establishment. There's another review that said the service was terrible, but I strongly disagree. If you're looking for a white glove establishment that will wait on you hand and foot the moment you walk in, this is not the place (maybe try Te Company). If you're looking for a place that lets you shop, smell, and peruse in peace first (then follow up with help when you're ready), this is the place. This is absolutely my preferred tea shop for the variety, knowledge of staff, and atmosphere. It's relaxing and no fuss but with the high quality tea I've learned to...

A friend introduced me to McNulty's about this time last year, as we are both avid tea drinkers. My first visit to the store was like a kid in the candy shop, I was overwhelmed by the sheer variety and volume of tea, and how they let you take a whiff of all of it before you buy. I have yet to get a tea from them I haven't loved. When Covid hit and the world stopped, McNulty announcing it would continue business online was a light at the end of the tunnel. My first online ordering experience was smooth and my delivery came within a week, as promised. I admit I was a bit taken aback by the delivery cost at first but it is what it is. Yesterday I placed another order with McNulty's, and chose the most basic shipping option. I don't know what elves or fairies they employ, but the order made its way to my door in Jersey in less 24 hours. I can't promise this experience for anyone else but I am taking this as a sign from God that all my tea needs shall be met by McNulty's until I...
