Not Your typical Indian Restaurant. Mirch is setting standards for all Halal – Indian – Pakistani and Bengali Restaurants on how to be Modern, Classy & Fancy all at the same time!!!
This restaurant is in the Heart of Jamaica, Queens an area not known for Fancy Dinning but when you walk into MIRCH. you feel like you’re in a Fancy Manhattan Restaurant. A very welcome and different dining experience than what one is used to in this area. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
Halal Drinks aka Mocktails – You Got to Try ALL of them – I ended up falling in love with “Ginger Fizz”, my wife enjoyed her Mojito Drinks … I tried hard to find out what are the ingredients behind that amazing drink – however I was told “ It’s Classified “ … I have taken my friends/coworkers who are used to drinking fancy alcoholic drinks and they tell me that coming to this restaurant they do not miss it and truly enjoyed Mirch Sophisticated and Tasty nonalcoholic drinks .
When it comes to Food, this is a special kind of Indian restaurant where you will NOT find Samosa’s on the Menu and that is a good thing for once. As the Dishes starts to appear on your table, everyone can be heard saying “WoW” just based on the food presentation alone. As you take your first bite of the dish, you enjoy the amazing flavors exploding in your mouth, allowing you to truly enjoy your food.
I have Fallen in Love with the “Cowboy Burger with Sweet Potato Fries” while my wife loves having either “Wild Salmon or the Goat Biryani “ I was impressed with EVERY dish. There were layers and layers of flavor and spice, placed in perfectly.
When it comes to my Family & Friends who only consume “Halal Zabiah” food, this is a BIG DEAL !!! The Restaurant is nice and clean, decor is beautiful, service is exceptional and most importantly the food and drinks are “Out of this World “. Now, Go and Enjoy your Food Experience at MIRCH and...
Read morePlease take two minute and read carefully and you will. decide whether you should go or not. First of all bad customer service because we were being told to sit in the corner tables when the server knows its quite uncomfortable to sit there because table was very conjusted. We asked him if we can sit in the table of 8 to which he replies no we cant because it is for 8 people and it is reserved. We were there and nobody came to sit there. And also there was no reserved sign on the table. Lets say the table is reserved then how do you take out the fork and knife from the reserved table. 10 minutes later a group of five people came and they were being seated in one of the table where we wanted to sit. Btw they werent the reserved people for that table bc the server asked how many people. Lets talk about food now because we can ignore the service but the food was very untasty. We ordered tawa shrimp as appetizer but it seemed like they took out the shrimp from curry and presented in front of us. Then we ordered three different biryani goat, chicken and shrimp biryani. I will recommend not to get shrimp biryani. I cant explain how bad the rice tasted. It looked and tasted uncooked. Only thing we liked was lamb curry. The bill was 66 and the gratuity fee and other taxes and fees took it to 96 dollar. Idk how and where on earth the...
Read moreWe've been going to Mirch for about 3 years now. Our first visit was the best, unfortunately it's not been as nice as the beginning. Decor needs to be updated along with a fresh coat of paint. They have beautiful whimsical chandeliers which were not on. The overhead lighting was to bright. (Mirch, if you need bulbs for your lights feel free to contact me). The bathroom was clean but still needs to be finished. Now the good and bad about the food. The appetizers were very good, chicken chaat, bbq wings, achaari chicken tikka were all very flavorful. Mocktails were refreshing. Our main course meals were average. Chicken mukhni was to sweet, chili burger was overloaded with jalapenos. Their signature dum biryani dish was average. Used to be amazing! The best meals were the chili chicken, lamb chops and fried rice. The service was average as they kept bringing out the wrong food. It happened 3 times, eventually they let us keep the last 2 incorrect orders which was nice of them. For dessert we ordered the gulab jamun and key lime pie. Gulab jamun for ok, but the key lime pie was not fresh and tasted like dishwashing liquid. The purpose of my review is not to discourage customers, but hopefully give feedback to Mirch so they can improve their quality. I plan on going back again to support my Muslim...
