An evening at Misirizzi has the singular ability to both dislocate and ground you so completely you forget about time. Each room has a different feeling, inviting you to truly begin to use your senses from the doorstep. This is before you get to any other humans and any of the food. Let’s start with the humans: I was greeted warmly & quickly by the owners. While this isn’t a classic red sauce joint (which I love as a native New Yorker), it retains a family feel. The restaurant is named after an indomitable toy and you certainly feel that strength of spirit when you are greeted. We were then assisted by the gracious Gloria, who has that enviable combination of elegance, effervescence, and know-how. She walked us through the menu, taking note of dietary concerns and preferences. Every bit of the menu has a story that’s connected to a place and time yet forward-facing. I had a traditional pasta with some adjustments that took me straight to heaven. I’m going to skip ahead to dessert because, simply put, I had so much FUN. It took me back to making cannoli as a little girl, again returning to the theme of play. You are able to fill your own cannoli (and if you are so embarrassingly inclined, have the cream… potentially straight from the bag). Usually I dislike a DIY moment when I’m all dolled up, but this was pure pleasure. After dinner, espresso (corrected) topped off the evening. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to the team and a special shoutout to Gloria!
Tl;dr Misirizzi gives you something you can feel. In a crowded market, it stands out as somewhere you can reconnect with yourself and...
Read moreWe were here a few weeks ago to celebrate my fiancée’s birthday. The staff here were so accommodating in helping me plan the reservation.
We were a group of 10, so we had to arrange the reservation via email, but Siria made it extremely easy to do.
They even printed custom menus as we had to do a pre fixe menu.
When we first arrived, we had to wait a bit for the party before us to finish up. The owner Alessandro treated us to a round of drinks while we waited, which gave our group time to settle in, catch up, and chat. They tried to make sure we were comfortable while we waited.
Once the table and room were ready, they took us downstairs, and into a separate dining room where we had the space to ourselves.
As soon as we were seated, we ordered wine, and the staff started bringing food out right away (since it was a pre fixe menu).
The food was great. In fact, it was so good, and we were all having such a good time, that I forgot to take more pictures of everything lol
They did forget to bring out dessert, probably because we were the last group there, and it was already past closing time, but once I reminded them, they brought it out quickly and never rushed us once to finish up. They even let me connect to the Bluetooth and play music once everyone else was gone.
Overall, our experience was great. We had so much fun here.
Since we ordered wine, and did a pre fixe menu, I think it came out to about $80-90 per person after tax and gratuity. Well worth it.

Read moreUpdate: To the restaurant owners who replied to my review and tried to suggest I wasn’t telling the truth. If you would like me to get specific, it’s the bartender with very short hair. It’s the woman who wears glasses. Her hair was dirty blonde color.
We were in your restaurant this month. I didn’t even know you existed prior to entering.
I don’t know why you would lie and say you don’t have a woman bartender. If she’s a waitress fine, then maybe you shouldn’t have her making drinks because they were awful! She was not very attentive, because she jumped from the bar to the back of the restaurant.
As a little advice, you should probably know your stuff before making it appear that a patron would spend the time to make up a review about your restaurant. I take telling the truth about my experience is very seriously
I didn’t give your restaurant one star because I think people should make their own assessment.

Not awful but definitely not great. Unfortunately service is really lacking too. We sat at the bar & had a bartender who she seemed very distracted. We carried on to avoid conflict but she wasn’t good.
Our pasta was flavorless & the drinks were awful. The bartender didn’t ask us what type of liquor we wanted & put bottom shelf in. Which is the same price as the next tower. Very dishonest.
& there is no hostess. The whole process was messy.
Overall there are better restaurants in Soho. My fiancé said he definitely would...
