I had the worst experience with the gym management, specifically Alexandria. Initially I loved the gym, appreciated the classes, however, the gym management completely failed to communicate clearly and respectfully with me. I had an injury which prevented me from exercising. So I asked to freeze my membership. I was told that I can’t do it in the middle of the month and will have to freeze only starting the next month. Ok, I did it, also paid the fee of 25 dollars for it. Then in the end of October I had another injury (yes I am not lucky) and literally was late by a day to ask to prolongate the freeze for the month of November. So I came, apologised for the inconvenience, showed the paper from the doctor that I had an injured leg and asked to prolongate the freeze for November. That was not possible according to Alexandria but she could freeze the month of December for me. Well, by that time I hoped to be in better shape to be able to exercise. Obviously the gym didn’t care about that. I called and asked repeatedly to freeze November for me. After a week of me running after them, calling and sending emails, finally it was authorised. By that time I was already exhausted and asked my bank to cancel the charge. So now when it is the month of December and I could come back as a client I was told at first that I could reinstate my membership starting December and just pay 25 dollars for the allegedly frozen November. After agreeing to this I find out the next day that actually not - I have to pay the full price for November and December. And when I ask for the explanation I receive it two days later, it is literally “you just have to pay this”. I can’t get on the phone Alexandria as she is busy doing inventory or she is out of the office. Basically it is exhausting dealing with them. Even if you die they ll continue charging you, they literally don’t care. Worst client service in my life. Absolutely not flexible, not client oriented,...
Read moreshort: worst of the Crunch locations I have attended. If it were my home gym, I'd look for another gym instead
long: a dance friend of mine recommended that I go to the dance classes at this location on Wednesdays & Thursdays. I had been paying the cancelation fees since last week because I've been eating too much from holiday lunches. I really didn't want to pay a fourth cancelation fee on Thursday, so I went. The locker room is very cramped with odd angles. The bathroom products are watered down. I couldn't believe it at first, so I went back later on, and the lotion squirts out like water. I was willing to overlook all of that, except the lotion. My biggest disappointment was the class studio itself and more so the dance instructor. The class studio is oddly shaped, a long, narrow stretch filled with big columns in between. It's difficult to get a good view of the instructor. In addition to that, she wasn't using the microphone, which made it even more crucial to have a good line of sight. Then I noticed she was recording the class with her phone angled up on the floor. I don't recall being notified that the classes are recorded. I did not consent to that invasion of privacy. I would not even have signed up for the class if that was disclosed on the class description of the app. I strongly do not recommend this Crunch gym location: watered-down bathroom products and no disclosure that class attendees are recorded.
For anyone looking for great classes at Crunch I recommend the following: Michael A - Chelsea &...
Read moreAvoid this gym at all costs—unethical billing and zero accountability.
I was charged over $500 in membership fees without my consent, and Crunch has refused to issue a refund despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue directly with their staff and customer service. The responses I received were dismissive, unhelpful, and at times completely unprofessional. I filled out the online form to cancel my membership in Nov 2024 and was charged until April 2025 due them claiming I needed to call or come in to cancel a membership. Its 2025 — why cant we use the online form to accept cancelations?
What makes this worse is the complete lack of ownership or empathy. It’s one thing to make a billing mistake—it's another to refuse to make it right, especially when it’s clearly their error. I followed every step they asked to cancel, and yet I’m still out hundreds of dollars with nothing to show for it.
If you’re thinking about signing up—don’t. You’ll be dealing with a business that treats its members like numbers, not people, and has no interest in fair or transparent practices.
Plenty of other gyms out there. Pick one that respects its customers and doesn’t run shady...
