Yesterday Wed May 3rd, I noticed a new Indian Restaurant and decided to take a chance since I love Indian food and General and always willing to try new spots. It was around 2 pm and decided to take advantage of their cool lunch deal. In all , I ordered Lamb Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Lamb Samosa, Chicken Chow Mein, steamed Lamb Momo dumplings, and yellow Dahl Tadka with Rice and Naan. All of this I ordered takeout to take home and eat with my family. Let me tell you …. All the food was quite SUPERB ! And What a pleasant Surprise as well. The food had the perfect combination of spices which gave it that high end taste, smell and texture. All the meat was so tender and mouth watering. I loved it. My wife was crazy over it and my 14 year old daughter that doesn’t really eat Indian food went crazy over the Chicken Tikka Masala ! Wow wow wow. I always wanted Indian food at this highest standard near where I work and now I can honestly say I got it and more Bc they also have popular Himalayan dishes like the lamb Momos and the Chicken Chow mein of which were super excellent and tasty as well. Looking forward to eating the rest of the leftovers tonight ! From all the Indian restaurants I’ve tried in NYC ; and I’ve tried most of them , this one is hands down the best I’ve tried and that really said a lot because I’m sooo picky. Very Highly Recommended for people that love eating Indian food as well as people curious about eating Indian food especially for the first time. For the first time especially , this is the perfect introduction to a fantastic way eating Indian food. It will definitely spoil whomever tries it there because the bar will automate be set so...
Read moreI had dinner here on Saturday night. Good service and nice atmosphere. The food was good quality and cooked properly and nicely. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo, something I eat at least once a week all around the world, and it said it was 'very hot' on the menu, as a Vindaloo should be. When I ordered, the server said "just for your information, this will be extremely hot" and I stupidly dismissed his advice as a different interpretation of what 'extremely hot' meant. Alas! He wasn't joking. It was a huge portion and I couldn't eat half of it. I wouldn't have finished anyway, but the heat got to me. Normally a Vindaloo has me sweating a bit, which I enjoy, but I never have to give up. This was as spicy as what we call a Phall in the UK... all heat and not enough flavour underneath. And there was only one piece of potato and LOADS of chicken. Not quite the right balance. The steamed rice is included and wasn't such a huge portion but was perfect and the Tandoori Roti was also perfect. The server volunteered, without me saying anything, to charge me only half for my Vindaloo as I ate so little of it and he'd seen me struggling, but I insisted on paying full price as I'd been served what I ordered and he tried to warn me. So I'd go back, but I won't be having a Vindaloo there again. Be warned it's the spiciest Vindaloo you'll ever have and the curry portion (but not the rice portion) was huge. So, despite it being partly my fault, only 4 stars... because a Vindaloo just shouldn't be so hot that a Vindaloo addict like me...
Read moreThat's great to hear that you enjoy dining at Muna restaurant! It seems like they offer a delightful selection of dishes. Chicken tandoori, chicken momo, and samosas are indeed popular and delicious choices from Nepali cuisine.
Chicken tandoori is a flavorful dish made by marinating chicken in a mixture of yogurt and spices, typically including cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. The marinated chicken is then roasted in a tandoor (a traditional clay oven), resulting in tender and charred pieces of meat with a smoky flavor.
Chicken momo is a type of dumpling that is widely loved in Nepal and neighboring regions. It consists of a thin dough filled with a mixture of seasoned ground chicken, onions, garlic, and various spices. The momos are typically steamed or occasionally fried, and they are often served with a dipping sauce made with tomato, chili, and spices.
Samosas are a popular Indian and Nepali snack. These are triangular-shaped pastries with a crispy outer layer made from wheat flour or pastry dough. The filling usually contains a mixture of spiced potatoes, peas, and sometimes minced meat. Samosas are deep-fried until golden brown, resulting in a crunchy texture, and they are often served with chutney or yogurt-based dips.
If you visit Muna restaurant and order these items, you won't be disappointed. These dishes are known for their delicious flavors and are enjoyed by many people. Enjoy your...
