Lots of Japanese products and a lot of delicious Japanese Drinks!

This is a small (this is Manhattan of course,) but well stocked Japanese Grocery Store. This grocery store has sauces, seasonings, breads, sweets/desserts, prepared dinner/lunches, a butcher/deli counter, frozen foods, and cold drinks. If your looking for a specific Japanese food, this grocery store is going to have it.

I mainly come here to buy Japanese milk tea drinks, coffee drinks, and bean cakes. For the coffees, my favorite coffees are Pokka Coffee Gold and Ucc Coffee. Both of these coffees are similar to the Starbucks Frappachinos, but not as sweet nor as creamy. My favorite Milk tea has to be Ito En Milk Tea Hawaiian style. Those three drinks are crack!

The Vitamin Cc Lemon is pretty good. It tastes like Fresca, but instead of having a grapefruit flavor, it has a lemon flavor. The Suntory black tea is good (unsweetened) but its a bit pricey $2.50. The Calpico literally tastes like Lychee.

The Bean cakes are good and my two favorite cakes are the wheate cake and the cake with the sesame seeds on it.

This is a very good store to go in and buy a drink, a bean cake, or...

this Dainobu location is pretty narrow but stretches back a bit. the store carries a variety of kitchen-prepared Japanese foods, packaged foods and snacks, some grocery and household items. the store feels a bit old and worn-in. there’s a variety of snack and household item aisles as well as refrigerated units with drink, sushi, unagi rice bowls, etc.

stopped in here for a snack as i was headed to Grand Central and grabbed some grape Puchao—gummy candy. hadn’t seen this flavor on shelf — supply chain issues. but I was glad to see it in stock again. woohoo. the prices are going to be higher on most snack items bc they are imported from abroad but they are well worth it.

staff are...

I stumbled upon this amazing gem on 47th while walking around the area, waiting for my hotel check-in. Although small, it is STACKED with food, snacks, and cute little toys. I grabbed a poké salad bowl and was genuinely surprised at how FULL and FRESH it was. It was so good that I came back a second time on the same day!! I had told my friends about it, and they also came in to buy goodies for themselves. I ended up going there one more time within my 3-day NYC trip. I'm very pleased and I am very excited to return once I come back to NYC!!...

Now THIS is a grocery store/deli with personality. It never ceases to amaze me how some businesses are able to do so much with such tiny spaces. You have sushi, side dishes, fresh meat, fresh produce, Ichiran Ramen (kitchen was sadly closed when I went), hot bread, room temp bread, toys, anime fan art, leopard print wallpaper, dive bar decor, the works. Prices are also very reasonable. Would do all my grocery shopping here if I lived in the area.
