I always went to the restaurant when it was Khabar Bari, but after it was changed to this one yesterday was my first visit . And was highly disappointed!
So we ordered mixed Thai soup, mixed noddles & mango lassi. My friend said lassi was ok, we both tried the noodles & it was good . But we just didn’t wanna try the Thai soup.
This is a Bangladeshi 🇧🇩restaurant & we all love our desi Thai soup . And never have we seen yellow Thai soup. I personally cook Thai soup & when I looked at it it was looking like daal ! My friend got very upset! Another thing was it loker like it got bad. How can I give an example 🥲like when we ladies try to make gur payesh & the milk goes bad sometimes after put the gur in! It what happened to the soup 😩I was so wanted some Thai soup .
After asking the server we learned the chef is chaineese & I guss that’s why Thai soup looked like that ! He definitely doesn’t know how desi Thai soup looks like!
Hope we were not too picky 🤦♀️but one good pint is that they did take the soup back without any complaints . And also didn’t charge us for it. For that I gave extra star.
The server was nice, very helpful. But we saw them talking on the back & we felt they talking about us. And that was highly unprofessional! No matter what making customers feel uncomfortable when they still in the restaurant isn’t right! You wanna talk bad please do so after they leave👍🏽
Another thing, there was newspaper on the floor & I asked the server why it’s there on the entrance & she replied something on the floor so they put it there. My friend told her it really looks bad & they should clean it up. But you all can see when left it’s still there. The sad part is restaurant wasn’t that busy at all. Don’t want anyone get into trouble but the inside of the restaurant wasn’t that attractive ; at least they can keep it always clean.
The bathroom is downstairs & really far which is very inconvenient! They should do...

So far, we've explored a range of dishes including Chicken Birany, Beef Tehari, Rupchada Fish, Shorshe Ilish, Coral Fish, Kachki Fish, Beef Bhuna, Paratha, Ilish Khichuri, and Lau Chingri. The Chicken Birany boasts a perfect fusion of aromatic rice and tender chicken, creating a delightful harmony on the palate. The Beef Tehari is a comforting revelation, with rich spices infusing each bite with warmth and depth. The Rupchada Fish and Shorshe Ilish showcase the restaurant's commitment to authenticity, presenting the true essence of Bengali seafood. Coral Fish and Kachki Fish elevate the seafood experience, the freshness and preparation reflecting a commitment to quality. The Beef Bhuna is a savory masterpiece, tender beef marinated in spices that unfold with every mouthful.
The cleanliness of the restaurant is impeccable, and it's refreshing to find a Bangladeshi eatery that maintains such high standards. The staff's hospitality is commendable, with every waiter exuding warmth and courtesy. Nabanno offers a quieter ambiance compared to other Bangladeshi restaurants, which we appreciate.
While every dish has been a hit, we found that the tangy flavor of olive in the Kachki Fish curry didn't quite align with our Bangladeshi palate. Nevertheless, this small suggestion aside, Nabanno remains a top choice for us in NYC. Highly recommended for anyone craving an authentic Bengali culinary experience with a side of cleanliness and...
Read moreWhen the store was Khabar Bari, I had a very bad experience because of its poor customer service. And, I didn’t visit this restaurant for a long time because of the unpleasant experience. It seemed the restaurant owner and the manager weren't aware of the customer service. In addition, the staff were very stubborn, unprofessional, aggressive, irresponsible, careless and even the manager didn't care about customer complaints at that time. However, I visited this restaurant again this week with my family after a long time, and I realized that a lot has changed under the supervision of the new management. Now, waiters are very professional, polite, attentive, sincere, responsible, cautious, respectful and most importantly honest about food recommendations. I already asked and remembered the name of the waiter who served our food so that I can pass an appreciation to him through review. The person who won back our trust and confidence in their customer service is Fareed. He served our food in a very organized manner and quickly, and his recommended food items were really fresh and delicious. As I've been enjoying food at different restaurants in Jackson heights for a long time, I'm sure that this restaurant's current excellent customer service, nice environment, competitive pricing and super delicious food already overtake all other Bengali restaurants in Jackson heights. And, I hope this restaurant will be a good example for all the Bengali...
