The New York Burger Co. is an absolute gem of a burger joint in the heart of the city. As someone visiting from the UK, I was thrilled to stumble upon this local spot during my recent trip to New York.
The moment you step inside, you can tell the place prides itself on being clean, nicely decorated, and welcoming. The bright lights, subway tile, and classic diner counter seating make it feel charmingly nostalgic.
Of course, I came for the burgers and was blown away by the quality and flavor. The beef patties are clearly fresh, thick, and juicy, cooked to a perfect medium rare at my request. Even the bun managed to be soft yet sturdy enough to hold everything together to the last bite.
But it's the toppings and sauces that put New York Burger Co. over the top. There is an extensive list of free sauces you can try including pesto, hot ketchup, honey mustard, mayo and more. I decided to sample a few different ones, all unique and delicious.
The burger menu itself has seemingly endless options to customize your meal. I went with a juicy bacon cheeseburger loaded with crispy onion rings, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Every bite was absolute burger perfection.
While touristy spots can be hit-or-miss, New York Burger Co. genuinely lives up to the hype. From the friendly staff to the incredible food, I couldn't recommend this place more highly, especially for visitors looking for a quality burger done right. It's an absolute must-try in New York and one of the best burgers I've...
Read moreWho knew the best veggie burger I had thus far in my life would come from this burger chain? Almost all restaurants or burger joints claim how unique their veggie patties are - ingredients, sources etc - but most of the time , they turn out flavorless, dry, and lifeless.
Stopped by New York Burger and Co. Courtesy of Levelup $10 promotion. Since I came in during the later part of weekday lunch rush, there were only about 2 people in front of me. There were a good number of burger and sandwich options (I wanted to try a few!). Even though initially I thought of a getting two minis, the veggie black bean burger with guac and mango salsa sounded too amazing to pass. Since the veggie was the only burger that didnt't come in a mini, I decided to go with just one full sized burger.
I played around at the sauce station - so many options (pesto mayo, spicy chili ketchup, chipotle honey? Yummm) before grabbing a seat and devouring my burger - the veggie black bean patty was the size of 3 regular patties smushed together. It was perfectly charred on the outside but kept moist at its center. It was loaded with black bean and grain (rice?) not the filler bs. So flavorful, so satisfying! The mango salsa and fresh avocado combo was the cherry on top of this amazing veggie burger. I simply couldn't get enough so I went for a second to take home.
I might give up beef burgers altogether for just another one of their amazing veggies. Will definitely return when I'm...
Read moreAfter working s long day I was yearning for a thick specialty burger and a nice night out with my friend. I wanted an original spot an no chain restaurant and there processed meat, so in we come to the new York burger Co. Impressed by the selection yet expected more burger variety. The service and the Dominican cook was the man. Good personality and pretty engaging. Now to the food. Because it was almost closing time the food was bland in a way but i still killed it(look at pic), everything was just burning hot which lead to it having burned the taste off it. I did expect more bacon for the price. One other thing, maybe the tourists and the kids like the drink machine but it takes away from the history and concept of the restaurant making it more commercial; Just a suggestion. The sauces are definitely your trademark with the location and the setting engrossing it's specialty factor and giving it a unique brand. Seating was large enough for groups and entertainment and the sidewalk seating only makes the property more valuable. Could have been a total 5 but it's hard to be perfect and would have been a three but I'll let the burger taste factor pass because it was close to closing time. P.s. The cashier forgot to ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked. An important question but negated from the scoring factor because it leads to great conversation with the Dominican Cook. Overall quick...
