This restaurant is welcoming and is the Perfect place for a dinner date or a family meal. It has a truly authentic Italian vibe with a twist of modern luxury yet affordability for every wallet. The food is tasteful, clean, and simple with a flavor profile that suits the pallet and the tummy. I started off my visit with a glass of Melbec or two. I had the tomato bruschetta and the appetizer of roasted brussels sprouts which I highly recommend. The brussels sprouts were fresh and had a beautiful sauce that enhance the flavor of the brussels sprouts. There were cranberries and a balsamic reduction that created a wonderful sweet yet savory complement to the veggie. It was so delicious I ate the full appetizer myself. I just had to keep coming back for just one more bite and before I knew it, it was gone! The bruschetta was simple and delicious as well. The tomatoes were all diced perfectly the same, it was enhanced by the flavor of garlic that they clearly rubbed onto the Italian bread below, just as my family would prefer when making dinner together. Then fresh basil was placed on top of the tomatoes under a light bed of arugula. What a flavorful dish! I finished my meal with a light and fluffy tiramisu. This dessert is definitely shareable and paired with well with a fresh espresso and a side of amaretto. I highly recommend mixing the amaretto with the espresso it makes for a delicious after dinner drink. Now let’s talk ambience! This cool downtown vibe with a back lite long bar that stretches across the right side of the space was tasteful and inviting. That is where I sat. However, the restaurant could comfortably seat a nice amount of people without feeling crowded. The attention each server was putting into ever guest showed. The vibe was lighthearted and fun and welcoming for every style of person, individually or as a family or group of friends. I got the pleasure to speak with the bartender for just a bit. Enough to know that the man behind the bar was full of passion for what he had created. The love of his menu showed, the love of his atmosphere showed, and his love for giving showed as his face lit up with excitement and passion as he spoke about the restaurant. In short, I highly recommend visiting here and experiencing the wonderful food, warming service, and incredible atmosphere for yourself. I am sure you will love it as much as I did and want come back...

We went for a meal on Monday evening as it was close to our hotel and had some good reviews. We were seated by the window where there was a big draft and my seat was wobbly and close to breaking. I asked if we could move to a different seat which was immediately better but they still seated someone else in the wobbly seat which was odd. We ordered our starters and as they arrived we still had huge menus in front of us and no space to put them. The staff didn't even take our order for our main course until we prompted them whilst we were eating our starters. The mozarella sticks and the dip were delicious however the sun-dried tomato bruschetta was not great, the bruschetta was just sliced bread, ever so slightly toasted and it had way too many sun dried tomatoes on it, I had to scoop half of it off!

The main course arrived very quickly which does usually mean it's not freshly cooked and that was clear. We had the lasagne and the sausage and broccoli pasta. The lasagne was very bland, the tomato sauce was watery, the pasta layers had no bite to them, they just turned to a mush and there was no bechamel sauce, only mozzarella. Though this was much better than the sausage pasta which was horrible to eat; the sausage did not taste nice at all and the broccoli tasted of nothing. There was also a pool of water at the bottom of my dish that tasted like broccoli water. There were also huge chunks of garlic in my dish which was unpleasant to eat and I had to pick out. The pasta was the only edible part and that's all I ended up eating, but i needed a lot of cheese on top. Even throughout this time we weren't asked once if we enjoyed our meals or if we needed anything, probably because they didn't want to know.

I decided to try the tiramisu for dessert, and although it wasn't the best it wasn't too bad.

I have eaten many Italian dishes and at many Italian restaurants and I can safely say that this was the worst. There were a lot of people in the restaurant and plenty of good reviews which I think is worrying given that it was an expensive restaurant and not worth at...

My wife & I & our staff are visiting from Minnesota for the week attending a trade show. We found the BEST gem in all of New York, and frankly, the best experience at a restaurant we have ever had!

The food? A+ Staff? A+ Decor? A+

The owner Will met us at the door welcoming us while making us feel special and throughout the evening he took care of everything: Made sure our wine glasses were full, our appetizers out promptly, our food out very quickly but not too fast, he is the classiest owner and so passionate about making sure his customers enjoy themselves to the fullest. He cares so much. We dined there on Saturday evening and had the very best pasta and pizza we've ever had. Honest. Fresh, homemade, priced really well, and the vibe at Nittis was so cool, so warm & inviting. The BEST first impression of New York.

It was SO fun and good that we went back tonight our second visit to our new favorite restaurant in all of New York. Tonight's Brussel Sprouts were so delicious for our appetizer!! Omg. Lasagna as good as Grandma's, pasta with Bolognese meat sauce was outstanding! My wife loved her own pizza that we couldn't finish because the portion was so large.

Here's the deal: We love to eat out. And Will the owner spent time talking with all the customers throughout the evening. That's refreshing to see, an owner who loves his customers and considers Nittis not his job or career rather his baby. I don't submit too many reviews but this one is from the heart. THE BEST FOOD & STAFF & VIBE of anywhere.

Do not pass up going to Nittis. It's the best experience you'll have in New York. I'm super full and we had the most fun night out ever. Will, your Dad & Mom would be so proud of you. They're smiling down at you knowing how much joy you're bringing to so many people.

A fan for life! See you soon my friend.

David...
