I Really Really Enjoyed my dining experience at Nocciola. For the pass 3yrs, I've noticed this restaurant, but never walked in. Its 1 of maybe 3 Italian restaurants in the E.Harlem area. Didnt think they would be good. Was I WRONG. First, the Service is truly first rate. Our waiter was Antonio. Very knowledgeable of the menu. We started w/simple appetizers, Calamari, bowl of Olives w/garlic/oregano, spinach & tomato salad w/shaved parmesan & Char Grilled Brussel sprouts. First time I had Brussel sprouts. To me, it mix of cabbage & broccoli. I had Orecchiette pasta w/sweet fennel sausage, broccoli rabe olive oil/garlic drizzle. The menu mentioned hot chilies, didnt see it. It was still Great My brother went safe, he got chicken cutlet parmigiana w/spaghetti. The chicken came w fresh sliced mozzarella slightly melted. Fried beautifully & juicy. My sister-inlaw went very exotic. She had Tagliatelle Neri w/mussels, clams & shrimp. I had to ask her for a taste. The pasta was black(neri) infused w/squid ink. Very Very Good. Wasnt really fishy. We had enjoyed all that w/a pitcher of red sangria. They did have white sangria w/black berries. Dessert was a huge piece of Tiramisu. Cake was light and the cream had hint of vanilla/anise. Though it was missing the lady fingers. Maybe crumbled on top would had been good. We also had a vanilla custard. It looked and tasted like a Tembleque, w/out the coconut taste. I'm definitely coming back again, again and again. Cant wait to dine more often w/my friends & family at this...
Read moreThis is my 2nd attempt for review. My first review last week was not posted. My daughter took me out to eat at this restaurant and she was so happy to just treat me. It was our first and last time. We were seated at the front table inside the premises which had a water ceiling drip on my daughters head… when I brought to the attention of waiter, although he apologized, nothing was done to resolve the matter other then saying they are working on resolving the leak… we should’ve been relocated. Daughter asked for a dish shown online but waitress said there was no such dish. We then ordered spinach ravioli with garlic bread and one side order of potatoes. The ravioli dish was a bit strange as it had a creamy white sauce that was not very appetizing. I was hesitant on eating the dish but forced myself as I did t want to offend my daughter as it was her first time treating me for dinner and didn’t want to offend her. However, we ate it. Garlic bread was burnt, side order was served after 30 minutes after main dish was served and only because I reminded waiter. Potatoes were nothing but plain and ordinary baked potatoes… only thing that we enjoyed was the watermelon non alcoholic beverage… couple of days later, my daughter and I got intestinal issues.. we traced this back to this restaurant as we haven’t ate out for more than a week so we know we got sick from the food.. which one? I don’t know… we won’t be returning and won’t be recommending this place. It’s...
