Nur Thai — Restaurant in New York

DO NOT DINE IN HERE. I don't typically write bad reviews or reviews at all really but I really feel the need to. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt as there's this one guy who works there who is sooo kind, he has great customer service, but he is not always there. And he wasn't there the day we went. I went there on 2/17/24 and first of all they mixed our order up completely and okay it happens sometimes people get confused but it was crazy cause they brought the wrong order completely and then on top of that they charged us for the wrong order, and I was completely confused as the waitress read back our order correctly before handing off the order to the kitchen. Then our bill came they overcharged us for an item that we didn't even order at all. Then she didnt even change the receipt instead shes like shell give us a discount which she did not give us. She also mentioned she accidentally charged another tables bill on my card but she cancelled it. I asked for a receipt and she never came back she said dont worry its been cancelled, apparently she cancelled it immediately. But on my bank account I was charged for both tables. On top of that my friend literally kept choking on the squid as they didnt peel the squid (I don't know whether to laugh or cry) it was honestly hands down a terrible experience. And I won't lie i've had other bad experiences here with their customer service in the past but it really was on another level on saturday. They also brought the wrong order to our table twice and they didn't actually make my friends entree the level of spice she had asked for. They messed up my order and didn't bring it out till much later. It was just a disaster. I felt bad the waitress was nice and I could tell she was overwhelmed and we remained friendly and understanding throughout everything with her but I really feel so cheated and kind of taken advantage of for being kind to her. Cause she not only overcharged us on our bill and didn't fix it but also charged my card for another person's table and blatantly ignored us when we asked for receipt or proof. I should have stayed and made sure it was sorted out I know, that's on me but I had to go we were already waiting for my card back for 25 mins and we had to go to other places and it was her mistake not ours. We really should've waited till we received both amended receipts but it didn't seem like she was had any intention of fixing anything. I just think everything was handled poorly. Food was not bad minus the multiple order mix ups and my friends entree was horrible and she did not like it :( moral of the story they don't have the best customer service and order mix ups are...

Nur Thai has been one of my favorite restaurants as I enjoy Thai food very much. I have been coming here for several visits. I was very disappointed in my service tonight. I went there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday with hope that I have a great experience as always. I called in prior during the day to make a reservation of 5 for 8pm. We also let them know ahead of time we will be celebrating a birthday so we gave them the cake. We arrived at 7:35 and was told the tables should be clearing up soon. We had no problem because our reservation is at 8:00pm so didn’t mind the wait. They are very busy I agree but after 8pm past I started getting irritated. If you can not manage your seating and timings don’t tell people they can make reservations. The staff was not very welcoming either or sincere about the wait time. I was not seated until 8:30pm. I get seated with my group and the waiter takes my order. Our food arrived one by one for all 5 of us which was very unprofessional to start because you don’t do that at restaurants we expect the food to come all together. Then I had ordered a drink which did not arrive so I had to let someone else know my drink did arrive afterwards. I did not catch my waiters name but let me tell you he has very poor customer service skills. At the end of our meal we asked him to bring out the cake. Instead of bringing my cake he brings out a dessert with candle from their place although I specially told him to bring the cake. If he did not understand what I was saying he should’ve communicated with the other guy that took the cake. It was supposed to be a surprise but it turned out being a failure disappointment. He then brings the cake with no music in the background though customer prior to me got birthday music played. Afterwards he just gives me the cake on the table with no plates, forks, or knife. I had to ask for plates and he brings that out with a knife but no utensils. I am honestly very disappointed in the service tonight and this ruined my celebration. I always recommend this restaurant but moving forward they should not only prioritize certain customers while others are neglected. Also train your staff to be more welcoming and have better...
