We just ordered just now at 6pm 8/3/2024. My folks and I. I go along with ordering from Gyro grill because my mother likes the burgers from here. But anything I order is always short or the portions are small. And we been ordering for years now. Reason I’m writing this review and not calling up to complain is that I’m not physically well and I don’t feel like arguing or blowing up over this but for $22 plus tax… you would honestly think the portion would be bigger? Years ago I put up with this because the price of the platters were $12-$16 a platter. But now at $22 a platter. I mean I feel incredibly ripped off. It’s sad because my parents like the burgers from here so I don’t want disrespect them. Update* My mother just called up and the owner said “it’s the same as it’s always been” and he didn’t want to replace or refund the platter. Here’s pictures of how small and dismal the portion is for $22. We won’t be ordering from here anymore. We’ll find a new Greek restaurant to order from. I also showed the pictures to multiple customers and people I know and they won’t be ordering anymore either. Apparently I’m not the only one who had complaints about this Greek take out restaurant… how can you be Greek and proud to make something so disgusting, small portions and looks unappealing/appetizing. Where’s your “Greek Pride” with making food?

Hubby and I were in the neighborhood and I was absolutely starving and could not fathom traveling home and still having to cook dinner before being able to eat. Yelp searched some spots in the area, Gyro Grill food looked great - we’re in. It’s a no frills restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating but mostly people ordering take out (from what I noticed in the two times I’ve been there). Hubby got their chicken gyro sandwich and I got the chicken souvlaki platter. Chicken gyro comes absolutely STACKED. The chicken souvlaki platter was kindaaaa dry but a squeeze of lemon and side of tzatziki quickly remedies that. First time I paid $2 extra for their grilled veggies, second time I got their mixed vegetables (baked) which I actually prefer and is included in the platter price. We also got their spinach pie. It’s probably one of the best I’ve had (like better than the ones I’ve been getting at a Mediterranean bakery). Their phyllo dough is soooo flaky and there’s no soggy bits. Definitely found my new fave spot and will be trying their other menu items soon!

Trying something different other than pizzas this weekend, went to my local spot as I had a craving for gyros ( lamb edition ). Here is my feedback Lamb to vegetables ratio: Really even, lots of lamb grilled with a slight burnt ( just the way I like it ) and with the white sauce and vegetables, it is almost a side salad over there. Really tasty as I took my time eating the gyro sandwich. Not gamey, a hint of smoke and yet, slightly dry. I don't really know how to rate gyros properly but I can tell you that if you have a fix, definitely worth it if you are in the area. Bro tip: ou got to sit down and eat it onsite as opposes to taking it to go. $10.83 total out the door.

If I didn't see it with my eyes, I wouldn't believe it. Do not recommend this establishment. I never write a review but I had to...... I placed an order for pick up on my way home from holiday shopping. I kindly received a call that some items were not available so I modified my order. When I arrived, I had to wait a few minutes while my gyros and fries were done. What I saw next left me flabbergasted.....a worker was cleaning the grill as they were soon closing and reached in with his gloved hand which was cleaning the grill with a soiled metal/aluminum pad and touched the fries to see if they were done (with the same gloved hand he was cleaning with). I quickly asked if I saw what I just saw and he remained speechless. The owner was on-site and I quickly brought it to his attention and he apologized; but if I was not there to witness this I would have never known. The icing on the cake is when I arrived home and noticed my order was incomplete. This is a clear reason why people get sick from eating out. Who knows if particles of the metal/ aluminum pad would've gotten attached the the food and one of my kids would've ingested it....god forbid. The owner had been warned that I was going to write this honest review about his staff and restaurant. DO NOT...

Let me start by saying that LOUIE is the man. I retired to NC and my son had to fly into NY for one day for a funeral service and he went there for dinner. My son was so impressed with the great tasting food that he immediately FaceTimed me. I remember eating souvlaki platters when we lived there. Trust me-I ate some of the best in NY. I told my son to bring me two souvlaki platters, and let me tell you-they measured right up there with the best. I’m judging it strictly by the taste of the food and the size of the platter, not by anything else like some of these cry baby Karen-type of people. Louie was an absolute gem to deal with over the phone (FaceTime). When my food arrived-he had given me extras, which I greatly appreciated. I made that food last me almost a week. Every time I warmed up that meat, it tasted just as good as the first day it got here. Don’t make the mistake of even passing this place up. Also, definitely look for Louie when you go there. He has a tremendous personality and without a doubt knows how to make a customer feel like they’re welcome in his establishment. HIGHLY-HIGHLY...
