I have been going to Velvet Effect Lasers for the past 2 years. I have been getting laser hair removal treatments on my legs, bikini, underarms and upper lip. It started with just my upper lip and I became hooked. I LOVE the results!!! Rachel has been doing my treatments. She's amazing! She really knows her stuff and you can tell she really cares! Ashley works the front desk. She is very warm and welcoming and always smiling. Cute personality. She always tries to make sure that I am comfortable and happy. John, the owner always makes me feel welcome as well. He's a bit of a flirt with the ladies it seems. For a woman of my age, 55, of course I love the attention from a handsome younger man (Lol). He's very sweet. Recently, I finally worked up the courage to do a little something for the lines on my face. They were starting to make me feel so horrible, especially since I started dating again. Anyway, I decided to schedule an appointment with their nurse practitioner, Cori. I have been contemplating Botox for a while now, but have been so scared. You hear so many bad things. Cori was very informative. I felt educated rather than pressured to buy something that I wasn't sure about. After speaking to her, I felt a lot better about it, but I told her I would think about it. Instead of being impulsive, I decided to shop around first. I went to 4 other consultations visiting with another nurse and 3 physicians. In all cases, the feeling in the office didn't feel like home, the way Velvet does. In addition, the prices, with the exception of one place, were so much higher. Finally, I said, screw it. I gathered up all my courage and scheduled another appointment with Cori. 50 Units of Botox, 2 syringes of filler and 2 weeks to completely heal and allow the products to settle and...OMG!!! I look at least 10 years younger. I'm so happy with my results. So happy!!! I've only had good experiences at Velvet. The only negative thing I could say about the place is that it does get very busy at times, so sometimes scheduling an appointment can be difficult and sometimes you may have to wait a bit in the waiting area to get treated, but not always. If you do wait, the staff is always apologizing and trying to make sure you are comfortable, offering coffee, tea, water, fruit and sometimes sweets. I waited once 45 minutes and John the owner gave me $20 off my treatment. I wasn't even complaining. Really nice people. Even if you do have to wait, it's well worth it. I would much rather go to a place that cares rather than to go to a place that rushes you through the door. I always feel like I am getting the best service. I would recommend Velvet Effect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do not understand how they even have good reviews. They are the worst laser place. I went there on October 3er,2018 two weeks before my vacation to the Dominican republic and they burn my legs for life! I told the technician that I was going to be exposed to the sun in two weeks and she said that there was no problem after one week. I was like great! After the procedure I told her that my skin was feeling extremely sensitive up to the point that I bought a numbing cream for the next time. For my surprise there was no next time. The next day my legs were full of scabs. I called right away and they said that everything was ok. Note that I couldn't even wear pants for like 6 days bc of the pain in my legs. I went there 4 times for a peel treatment before my flight and everytime they gave me an excuse. So I went on my vacation without been able to expose myself on the sun. After I got back Jhon the owner did nothing to help. He had told me that he was going to fix my legs and didn't even gave me a refund.
I am grateful that the mark on my upper lip only lasted 8 days. Unlike my legs that now I have white spots after 4 months
I just ask that if you have love your skin...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm really surprised at the amount of good reviews posted here because in my experience this was not the case. I went here for a VI peel twice and each time I went, the Esthetician there only went over my face once and she always did it very quickly, always under 5 minutes. She always seemed like she was rushing, which bothered me. I knew the first time that I should have said something about it because based on what I researched about chemical peels, its usually a 15-20 minute process, sometimes more, and its always at least 3-4 layers. Anyways I let it slide and luckily enough the first time the results were ok enough for me not to complain. The second time I did it however, she did the exact same thing and it didn't turn out good at all , I didn't see any difference when the peel was completed. I was really dissappointed especially knowing the fact that I spent over $300 each time for the peel and also the fact that the esthetician didn't do it like a true professional should've done it. I certainly learned my lesson and will never go back to...
