Got to Panera early this Sunday morning me and my 11 year old son were the only 2 dining in. We waited a bit for the food so as soon as my son's grilled cheese was placed on the counter I attempted to retrieve it as I knew it was ours since no one else was in the entire restaurant. The worker with no name tag so I don't have a name, but he is described as a tall male black thin wearing a black shirt with white writing on it, yelled at me "Don't take that I didn't call your name yet!". I said it's obviously mine there is no one else here and furthermore I paid for this so I'm taking it. He then said under his breath "Do as you're told you white 'expletive'". I immediately asked for the manager and demanded that he be fired on the spot and asked for a full refund. I could not believe that he said this if I didn't hear it for myself I wouldn't believe that someone would actually say something like this especially in customer service! This guy is the last guy that should be any where near customer service let alone serving food to people! Furthermore after the manager refunded me(well I thought he did see the update below), the worker above was seen bringing a customer that had come after me his food all the way to his table without even calling his name! The customer was black. He did this out of total spite. Racist, terrible service, horrible attitude a total disgrace that this guy is able to continue to work there. I've seen other negative reviews here about this worker how many more does it take before something is done?! Also if this guy talks to people like this sooner or later he is going to say it to the wrong person and they are going to have a real incident on their hands at this location. Before any of that happens please remove this guy! Update When the manager was supposedly refunding me he asked do I want it back in cash or credit. I said cash. He stood at the register and went thru each item getting to a total price and then saying your all set. I said where's the cash? He said no it's credited to you on your Panera account. I said okay. After leaving I thought this was weird so I called Panera customer service and sure enough he didn't credit me anything! He was just standing there pretending to refund me!! Unbelievable. I ordered from the app, Mac and Cheese with bacon, and was charged for it. I also ordered the ātoasted garden Capreseā sandwich (pics attached of what I discovered when I reached homeā¦total disappointment, half the ingredients werenāt even on there). Anyway, I go in to collect my bag and noticed no bacon bits were included. Girl at counter was indifferent when I brought this to her attention. She responded with a āoh we must be out of baconā and proceeded to work behind the bread area. I ask to speak to the manager. Skinny guy walks to the counter clearly bothered that heās been called up. I explained to him what I ordered. He tells me the app states they are out of bacon. I refute that claim because BACON MAC AND CHEESE is clearly written on the receipt!!! I even attempt to open the app to show him it doesnāt state theyāre out of bacon and he turns around, raises his hands, shakes his head, and walks away!! Then when I get home, I noticed the sandwich was missing half the items that were supposed to be included!!
I contacted corporate and they were helpful, rectifying the situation. However, reading all of these reviews regarding poor customer service and disrespectful management, some reviews even describing this so called manager; I canāt believe corporate allows this kind of leadership. Iām not sure if he made my sandwich or not, or if another worker made it, but as the manager, there is no quality control!!
I live so close to this location and frequent it often, but am reluctant to go back because nearly half the time they have messed up on food orders, OR theyāre out of major ingredients by 6pm!! We had been waiting more than one hour to get our order. We saw our name in ready on display board, but we didnāt get our order. When we asked about it they said they didnāt know that. After that they found the receipt. That was their fault, but they acted like we did something wrong. When they found our receipt they asked us to wait again. The cinnamon crunch latte taste was so bad, even though they gave half full of cups. I dunno why they treated us like that. because of our skin color. We are south Asians, they are so racist.
