Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in New York

This location is the worst! If I could give it zero stars I would. Ordered 2 pizzas at 6:15pm and followed my order on the Papa John's Tracker. At 6:45pm I was alerted that my order was on its way. The driver called me at 7:11 to say that my pizza is outside. My brother was already outside waiting for the order since it had already been 25 mins and we live less than a mile away. As soon as I got the cal I immediately went outside and no one was there. 2 mins later an SUV drove by and stopped 3 houses away. I saw that it was a Papa Johns employee. He went around to the rear passenger side door and just took out my pizzas. As he walked to us I questioned where the warmer bag was. He said" yea, in the car." I said "my pizzas should be in it even when you deliver." The boxes were barely even warm. As soon as I got inside I called the store. Whoever I spoke was very rude. I told him that my order just arrived and it's not hot, that it was delivered without a warming bag and that it arrived later than it should have. He asked me how long it took (he didn't even comment on the non warmer bag) and I said "almost a half an hour from when it left the store." He argued with me that "this store is 35 min delivery, no matter what." I told him that I tracked the order and know when it left the store,and he again said "its 35 mins even if your next door." I said "then you're going against what the website shows in the tracker." The man (whoever he was) just kept arguing with me that Im wrong because their delivery time is 35 mins. I informed him that I will be contacting corporate. So glad I ordered pizza to have to cook it...

To be honest the quality of pizza isn't what it used to be. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and went back again after being really disappointed with my order and.. yeah can't do it again. It's a shame, the prices are great (2 medium two topping pies for about $16 after tax if you go with the store pickup option and 3 for approx. $24) Credit where it is due, they are very clean and I can't help but feel bad to give this review because the employees here are very friendly, professional and hard working and I personally do not think they are to blame for the blandness of the pizza, (Also the delivery guys are very fast, professional and friendly) I strongly believe it is the toppings they have no choice but to work with. That's a problem only the higher ups can fix. I state this theory if mine about the toppings because my mother and I used to enjoy the medium pizza with Canadian bacon (ham) and pineapple. The last 2 times we ordered it was horrible. The pineapple was tasteless as well as the ham. As an avid lover of pineapple both on or off pizza I could tell right away that instead of being sweet like fresh pineapple always is (unless taken from the core which it is not as it is very easy to tell the difference just by looking). Also had the same issue with lack of flavor when trying the beef (meatball) and onions combination. If your going to have a pizza from here I can say truthfully I wouldn't order anything but a plain pie, as I had no complaints when there were no toppings.

After being told the wait would be 30 to 40 minutes I got my food in over an hour. Then I get my food minus the sodas I ordered so he tells me he will go back and get it. I then check the pizzas and the sides and they were all ice cold. I had to put all of the food in the oven and heat everything up. It was that cold. This is unacceptable and is exactly the reason why papa John's should not force their customers to tip before the order is delivered. I then had to call the restaurant after a half hour to find out where the guy was with the sodas was told he left already and then after over ANOTHER HOUR I had to call the driver himself and was told he would be here in 15 minutes because he had to drop off someone else's food. Your delivery driver will make or break your business and this is proof of that as I will not be ordering from this place again and I will be posting this review on multiple sites.

Update: after waiting all that time the driver eventually came back and left the sodas in the lobby of my building without even a phone call. I live on the 9th floor by the way. Pathetic...
