Pete's Grill — Restaurant in New York

This place used to be great! I don't know if it was sold or management has just become jaded but its sad. Ordered breakfast over the weekend (mother's day) for the special women in my life. ETA 30 mins. NO PROBLEM! I gave them the benefit of the doubt being that it was a big day, and I had a feeling they were busy. At the 1Hr mark I gave them a call to see how it was going. Me: "Hi I would like to know the status of my order" PG: "We are very busy we will get it out shortly" Me: "You didn't even ask my address, how do you know it didn't go out already" PG: "Ok whats your address, (I gave it to him) Ok hold on" PG: No not ready it will be out soon.

So I waited, and waited, 1hr 45mins (now I'm embarrassed and angry) so I call back.

Me: "Hi I ordered almost two hours ago, I would like to know when I should be receiving my order?" PG: "Give my your address" (I did) PG: "I'm sorry, it still hasn't gone out we are going to send it out right now" Me: "Nevermind, I am coming there now to pick it up"

When I walked through the door there was ONE guy frantically putting my entire ($70) order together, some of the food hadn't even made it out of the kitchen yet.

I'm not mad it was late, it was embarrassing that I kept guests waiting so long, I was mad there was NO communication. If your starting to sink, tell people you aren't currently delivering! If my food is running late, CALL ME and let me know. Had I not called what time would I have received my order (breakfast)? 5pm? 2 Hours? A joke.

*Forgot to mention, we ordered 2 omelettes both of which had half an egg shell in them.

I have came here a few times and food and service were always exceptionally great for my family and I. But I really believe this place deserves a review because this Sunday a very lovely waitress named Carmen went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. As an expectant mom of 4 kids all under 10, I was here because I needed to feed myself and kids on a Sunday. If you are an expectant mom of multiples you know it can be tiring and every help you can get is highly appreciated. Carmen kindly and patiently took orders from me and knew which plate was going to be split amongst my kids (without me having to ask her to). I usually order and ask for extra plates and split the food myself but Carmen brought the meal already split into 2 plates which helped me so much and my kids were so excited to eat. We ordered the Pete’s Grill Deluxe Breakfast (We chose.’ waffle and added fruits and whip cream it came with eggs, ham, bacon and sausage). My oldest ordered the Philly cheese steak and I ordered over easy eggs with homefries and sausage. We devoured the food and didn’t take pictures, but it was all delicious. I took a chicken rice soup to go to feed my toddler when she woke up (she slept while we all ate our food, thankfully). My toddler enjoyed her chicken rice soup at home when she woke up. Omg. Awful experience. I was totally disrespected by the ownerand the waitress. He seated me. I waited a very long time for the waitress to come to take my order. I ordered coffee and chicken souvlaki. The waitress didn't even wait until I finished my order and took off. When she brought me my coffee it was very old cold and bitter, I couldn't drink it it was awful. I told the waitress it was cold and bitter and she snapped at me it wasn't. She didn't give me a fresh cup . I felt very upset but didn't say anything to her. I asked her for ice water withlemon she brought me warm water with no ice no straw nothing. When I tried to get her attention she gave me a dirty look and ignored me totally. When my chicken souvlaki sandwich came it was so dry no white sauce on top. I asked her for some and she didn't came back until I finished the sandwich. She came around with coffee and passed me up and went to the next booth. I was so upset. When I told the owner he started raging on calling me names and screaming at me. It seemed like she was his girlfriend because he was acting very intimate with her. He needs to learn how to respect and treat his customers with courtesy. I don't recommend going to this restaurant to be disrespected...
