I’ve been going to Petee’s Pie for many years and for the first time ever I had a bad experience with the quality of the pies. Not too sure if someone new was hired for production services but I came to this location on Sunday night and ordered 4 different slices of pie, my friend ordered another 5 slices, all 9 for us to share and taste. We were both super excited because I’ve been raving about how much I love their pies. We got strawberry rhubarb, guava mascarpone, lemon merengue, coconut custard, apple and 2 pecan pie slices. For starters, the bottom crust of all the pies were slightly underbaked and opaque. They didn’t have that beautiful, golden crisp crust we all know and love in a pie. Not too much of a big deal but two major issues we had is the strawberry rhubarb tasting like it was kept from the day before as to not waste it.. we could tell because the butter was almost cheesy in flavor and the top and bottom crust was very, very soft. The other issue was that the coconut custard was severely over baked and was reminiscent of scrambled eggs. :((( the guava mascarpone however, was exceptional. I love Petee’s and I hope this review helps push the production team to further investigate their quality control. Love you...
Read moreToday I picked up an order from Petee’s. Immediately upon stepping in the pie shop I noticed the changes that have been made throughout the shop within the past two years. Uncontrollably, I mentioned what I observed and a well built man behind the counter overheard me. He was pleasantly pleased with my review and offered me a pie on the house. While I do regret not getting his name mainly because he had a ring on his finger and I don’t mingle with married men out of respect, I do wish I got his name for this review. Although I had to turn down the freebie for health reasons, I thought kind of his gesture and wanted the world to know that the customer service in this pie company is a rare treat in today’s society. I can not comment on the food bc I’ve never indulged, BUT, if you want to be treated well where you spend your dollars, Petee is the place to...
Read moreI bought pies last year for thanksgiving and thought they were good. I decided to buy the same ones and add Sour Cherry to the family thanksgiving. I'm not sure what it was but the Sour Cherry tasted spoiled and the Sweet potato pie grew fuzzy mold the next morning. The Apple pie was just fine, nothing that great and the chocolate chess was decent.
Upsetting for sure since each pie is $40, so I spent $160 on pie, I had to throw out 1/3 of the sweet potato since it grew mold. No one wanted the Sour cherry so that was wasted (even my family member that loves cherry pie said it tasted spoiled). The other two pies were just okay. Won't be buying again next year due to prices and the spoiled taste.
Staff that day when I picked up the pies were great though! So shout...
