Service was good - everybody is nice. But the pho doesnt hold a candle to your average Californian joint in Orange County or Bay Area pho; and I can't hate on that because it's literally like this everywhere I go in NY. (A vietnamese work colleague of mine said I have to drive all the way down to D.C. to get that comparable Cali Pho taste). Ok so to provide actual criticism for my Pho Tai (rare beef slices): soup tasted too salty and less beef stock taste. And -- to my personal preference -- it didn't have slight hints of those rare spice flavors of either clove, star anise seed, cardamom, roasted/charred garlic etc (some place have that kinda taste - I like). The plate was frugal with the basil but at least they were fresh along with the bean spouts. The lime slices were dry and small. Good things were: price point and service. The Thai iced tea was legit, too. They serve it less sweet here (I like it either way - im talking about the thai tea.) Final thoughts: The place does well for itself (at near capacity around 6pm dinner time on a Saturday but always had 2 or three seats available) and the vibe is cozy enough so I recommend you at least...
Read moreI first came to this restaurant because I drove to flushing and it has a sizeable parking lot in front of it (shared with a grocery store and a few other establishments) but I left as a loyal customer. The pho was fresh and overly heavy in flavor. The iced viet coffee was also one of the best I’ve had. After my first visit, I was not writing reviews yet but I have come a second time and now I’m leaving a review.
This establishment is very clean, has great customer service, and has a bathroom.
We ordered iced viet coffees, a new appetizer on their menu called goi ga, pho chin, and a bun bo hue. The viet coffees are strong and dark but the condensed milk balances out the flavors beautifully. We learned that the recipe for the coffee also called for some hazelnut to make it a little nutty. It’s so good, you must try it! The goi ga was crunchy, umami, and cold. It was a great appetizer and nothing like I’ve ever had before. The flavors blended well together but if you don’t like the flavor of fish sauce, you should probably stay away. The pho chin was great as usual and came out hot. I didn’t try the bun bo hue but my friend gave it...
Read moreThis place is awesome, especially if you or your loved ones have food allergies. We came here with our toddler who has severe food allergies, and all the staff are so friendly and attentive. The chef came out to talk with us and make sure he understood what foods my son is allergic to so he could make all the food safe for him, and he even cooked a dish from scratch in a different way just to make it safe. Our server Darwin went out of his way to talk with our son and was so friendly, and made it a point to wash his hands before getting our dishes just to avoid any cross contamination. We haven't been to this place in years because of the pandemic and we missed it so much!!! Their pho broth is just so good, and the people are all so welcoming and friendly. It's really hard trusting a restaurant when we've had some mishaps with other places, but this place put us right at ease and they were just so awesome! Plus their food is delicious! We will...
