The food was okay, not the best bento I’ve eaten. Some places come with shumai and a California roll instead of the gyoza and spring rolls, which I prefer. The thing that worries me though, is the huge gaping whole in the bottom of the bento box. I was sharing the food with my toddler and upon picking up the second spring roll, I noticed a weirdly shaped hole underneath it. I don’t know if it was a rat that chewed through it or whatnot, so I called the store and spoke with the lady in Chinese asking about the issue. She didn’t bother to check and told me that possibly the food was too hot and it burned a hole through the plastic (seriously!?). Upon further inquiry, she said it’s also possible that the plastic bento box had a defect during manufacturing and they received it like that (again, seriously!?). She explained that they do not poke holes in the container, and that she guarantees the food is freshly cooked. I mean, I can understand if there’s a defect, but why would you serve it to a customer and use the food to hide it? I’m really worried the container was infected or contaminated, and since my kid is already not feeling well, what did we just ingest into our system? Is anyone going to take responsibility? I was so mad after the phone call I had to post a review to warn others. For anyone deciding to order from here, please check your food and containers before you leave the place. I had a bad experience and I’m not happy about it. Despite the food being okay, the container incident has really gotten me worried and the rest of the food went into the trash. Be wary if you’re...
Read moreThe food is good. But when it comes to sushi, you get what you paid for. The sushi is not the real deal. Let me repeat, the sushi is not the real deal. And what I mean is that, the rice is not for sushi, the rice is not prepared like how a real Japanese restaurant prepares sushi rice, you can absolutely tell the difference, and tell the difference between good quality seafood and the cheap stuff. It’s not pleasing to me. I’ve been eating Japanese sushi for many years, some from Rochester ny, Buffalo, ny, and some from Portland Maine and ofcourse from right here in the big Apple, so when I tell you my experience from eating the sushi rolls here at this spot , I’m telling you from experience. You want the real deal, look for Japanese owned restaurants that depends on their reputation and you’ll see the difference, trust me. If you go to Cape Cod try the sushi at Inaho Japanese Restaurant, Portland Maine, try Miyake or Sapporo,
On the other side of the menu, the Chicken teriyaki with rice, is good, I think it was better tasting though prior covid lockdown, could be just me, or maybe some ingredients were swapped for cheaper stuff, I don’t know, but it is passable and good tasting and good cheap price.
Sorry Teriyaki One, I have to be Honest. Your rice and chicken taste good, but the sushi? It is not like before the lockdown. Something changed.
I work for a food company, I can’t say cause you will call them up, so I do know something about Sushi and how it is prepared and with several brands ingredients it is commonly made...
Read moreThe Teriyaki is always good at this place with the rice. Too bad its a bit pricey though, but the food is good. The punch card system is good too where you can score a free order with the stamp card. Wish you can get stamped when you order sushi too because you are still spending money at this place but its only for when you buy teriyaki is when you get the stamp..that is too bad.
The sushi is prety good too...but they fill the special rolls with imitation crab meat, which i didnt know about. this isnt a real sushi roll. I ordered the dancing eel special roll only to find out there was imitation crab meat inside, not cool for $9 roll. I dont know if they do this with the other special rolls. This is a way to save money actually by taking this route. What do you expect. This got my stomach not feeling well. Not a fan of imintation crab meat...I will only order the reg rolls next time, no...
