Went here on a whim and thought it was great! Food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. On par or maybe even below with what you'd want to pay at a casual Mexican restaurant.

The service was good but the caveat I will add is I went here after 8pm on a Wed night so the place was basically empty. Can't speak to when it's crowded.

But it's also worth noting this place is tiny. There's about 10 tables. That's it.

The only criticism I would offer and it's a very tiny one is that I didn't care much for the salsa that comes with the complimentary chips. It is very liquidy and also has quite a kick to it. But because of its consistency, you don't really get any of the "flavor" of the salsa. All you get is that spicy feeling on your tongue… which even if you like spicy items, makes the spice less fun to enjoy. But that's a very minor thing. At least they give free chips.

I will definitely...

I must’ve caught them on a bad night bc the manager was the most disrespectful person ever I actually think she’s racist bc her service towards me was horrible. She didn’t even offer me any water or the chips and salsa sample they give b4 we order but she definitely gave it to the other customers sitting at the next table! Not only that they prices are outrageous for a margarita to taste like water and nasty old lime and salt smh I used to go there a lot but their food and drinks definitely started slacking! I also seen the guy in the kitchen that cooks touch the food like literally lining the food up neatly on the plate. SMH I will never ever go back to that spot and I don’t recommend that spot to anybody not even if u was on a lunch break and wanted a quick taco...

Me and this place go way back to 2002 when I first discovered it. I lived very close for 10 years and this was my to go place for 'home cooking food'. The waitress was Maria , she was always nice and welcoming. Young man called David and his siblings work there now(last time i checked almost two years ago) and they do a great job. The food is amazing. Best burrito in town, very fresh and tasty. U should try the tres leches cake!! It's heaven. I used to order it with their cafe con leche... sooo good. This place is my favorite place as it brings back so much memories and good tasty food. Every time i visit NYC i stop by, it stayed loyal to it's recipes...

Worst Mexican food in the Upper East Side. Second time trying it and I should’ve learned my lesson the first time with really garbage tacos. This time I order a grilled chicken torta and they either gave me ground beef or ground chicken. Who uses ground chicken for a torta? The torta was tiny and soaked in oil. NOTHING like a torta either. I feel like I didn’t get any bean spread, mayonnaise, or avocado. Just the meat with lettuce, tomato, jalapeƱos and bread. Needless to say the meat tasted like Ortega store bought blend.

This is my favorite place on the upper east side. The food is great and fresh, the drinks are strong and good! This restaurant is owned and operated by a family of professionals that put service first and set a standard for dining on the UES. The ambiance is great for both a solo venture or a family and friends dine in. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy 🌹

This place is authentic Mexican in the middle of the upper Eastside of New York City. We enjoyed a quiet dinner for two with some great tacos and burritos. The chips and salsa were excellent. Looking forward to our next trip to New York for some tacos and a sangria.
