Playwright Tavern Act II — Restaurant in New York

Not sure if he’s a waiter or bar-back, but he doesn’t seem to be too happy with life. His attitude sucked from the moment I sat in my seat, despite my “kill ‘em with kindness” approach. Cool, I get it.

But, I moved from a drafty window seat to a couple tables over, in a warm area. I told him I was moving, showed him the table I was moving to, and he still took my food order to the old table, where a new couple was sitting, and breathing on my food. That’s one.

Two, I asked the waitress for my check, she brings it to me. However, the waiter/ bar-back/ not sure what his job is took my bill and credit card, and I was very uncomfortable with it. But, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I see him come back minutes later and drop off a bill at a table within my eye view (the couple sitting at my old table, got up and moved because the window table is suuuuper drafty. Seriously guys, fix it or stop seating people there!).

In my mind I think, “he’s messing up so much that I can guess that’s my credit card sitting in front of a stranger”. And sure enough, it was my bill and credit card. The nice couple immediately gave me my card and receipt.

Point is, get to together!

On the plus side, the 2 stars is for the delicious chicken pot pie. I still gave 20% tip because the other two waitress’ were nice.

I didn’t complain or make a big stink about the two incidents, but I did write a message on the receipt to express my discontent. I sat at my table for over 20 minutes after someone taking my receipt, and no one came over to apologize or ask what my note was about, hence the...

Two thumbs down. Choosing this place for lunch was a mistake and we should've known better because it was such a touristy area. The waffle fries were the only thing decent we ordered. The nachos were meh (also no salsa or sour cream on the side, kind of cold), the chicken "tenders" (they were massive but not in a good way) were very overcooked and, given how thick they were, dry and had an unpleasant chewy quality. The mozz sticks were "beer battered" but flavorless and the same quality as something you'd buy from the frozen food section. No complaints from the beer drinkers but the cocktail we ordered was sent back because it tasted gross with low quality liquors (at $15 you'd think you could get something drinkable). It was one of their seasonal Christmas drinks. The tropical fruit flavored drink was rimmed in a white paste and peppermint candies (?? what). They took this off our bill. While sitting there, we saw a woman at the table near us send a cocktail drink back too and say "it's terrible". My orange Jameson and club soda was somehow also not good. Jameson is smooth and this was...not. I'd bet money it wasn't Jameson after all (this cost me $14). We ate in their outdoor/roadside area and ambiance was lacking. Overall a very mediocre experience. We were all happy we didn't waste money...

I was there last night for the first time. I work in the area in the same industry and I finished work at 2:30am, I was tired and thirsty that I decided to grab a beer at this place. The girl behind the bar was very nice. But the security guy was so rude to me, it was 3:30 am and they did last call for drinks so I ordered my last beer thinking I still have at least 20 minutes to finish my drinks, so the bartender served me the last beer and one minute later the security guy came and told me, you have 5 minutes to finish your beer and leave because we closing. I asked him if they were closing in 5 minutes and he unswer me yes. But the bartender just poured it my last beer and I still have half of beer from the previous one and he was pretending that I was going to finish it in 5 minutes. Finally I'd tried my best to finish my beer because he was staring at me. I finished my beer and half and I left the place, I felt discriminated because I was the only latino at this bar. When I was walking out at 3:40am the bartender still was making drinks for a big group of people So disappointing of this place. Never will back and not recommend if...
