Potions — Restaurant in New York

Let me start this review by saying I really wanted to like this place. I recently visited Potions and was utterly disappointed with the service. The bartender took an eternity to serve even the simplest of drinks. Waiting endlessly for a drink when the bar was virtually empty ruined the entire experience, making it impossible to enjoy the evening. The price points weren’t exactly cheap either for the long wait.

The truffle fries were frozen and mushy upon arrival. So awful I tried a few and couldn’t finish it.

What's worse is that when I attempted to share my concerns with the owner about the excruciatingly slow service, they seemed disinterested and unresponsive. It's disheartening when the management is unwilling to address legitimate customer feedback, showing a lack of concern for improving their establishment.

Overall, the inefficiency of the bartender combined with the apathetic response from the owner makes it impossible for me to recommend this bar to anyone. Customer service and attentiveness should be fundamental priorities for any establishment, but sadly, this bar missed the...

Finally a cocktail bar in the south side, Ozone Park, Jamaica Queens area that sells quality cocktails ( I'm not talking about your regular vodka and cranberry juice) but a selection of actual craft cocktails with curated unique ingredients that thought and effort was put into.... The name of this establishment "POTIONS" speaks for itself I left here after a great night of enjoyment feeling magically uplifted. The customer service was "exceptional" The gentleman who served me the drinks not only was attentive to my wants he also took the time to learn about my taste pallets and educated me on the various options they have that will cater to them.... Owners are great. I respect the vision of bringing a different vibe to Richmond Hill. My issue was the drinks. I had a LIIT Witch (their version of a Long Island Iced Tea) and it was not strong. Even had a shot following that and no effect. (I am a light weight social drinker.)

My personal policy is that if I am to ingest alcohol, I should feel some effect, otherwise it is not worth compromising my health! 😆
