Title: Rainbow Seafood Store: A Decade of Fresh Seafood and No-Frills Takeaways in Jamaica, Queens
For over ten years, Rainbow Seafood Store in Jamaica, Queens, has been my reliable source of fresh seafood. This store, located at 91-02 Sutphin Blvd, has consistently proven its worth with its wide variety of mostly farmed seafood, showcasing freshness and quality with every item.
What strikes me every time is the care put into displaying the seafood. Everything is so well-organized, making shopping there a pleasant and hassle-free experience. This art of display, coupled with the fast and courteous service, sets Rainbow Seafood apart in the bustling New York City fish market scene.
When it comes to pricing, Rainbow Seafood truly stands out. They offer great value for money, striking a rare balance between quality and affordability. Knowing that such fresh seafood can be purchased at such reasonable prices is a relief.
The store offers modestly cooked fish and rice for those needing a quick meal. It's a straightforward, no-frills takeaway option that provides a convenient meal solution, albeit without much spice or flair. The simple, filling food is there when you need something quick and easy.
One service I particularly appreciate is their fish cleaning service. They handle this task swiftly and efficiently, adding to the convenience of shopping here.
Rainbow Seafood's commitment to the community is evident. Their involvement with the New York Seafood Merchants Association and support for the Jamaica Bay Marine Research Center and the New York Aquarium reflects their dedication to sustainable practices and community engagement.
In summary, Rainbow Seafood Store is more than just a seafood market; it's a fixture in the community, known for its fresh seafood, practical meal solutions, and dedication to customer service. A visit here is always a guarantee of quality, whether you're picking up ingredients for a gourmet meal or grabbing a simple...
Read moreThe first time I went there I didnât like the food but that may be because I got the fried selections. I totally recommend if you want food thatâs cooked for you but you pick the selections you want, season it yourself and have it steamed. If you want it even better then take it home and cook it yourself. The place is clean but ONE of staff had a BAD attitude. Poor customer service from him. The ladies who steam and/or serve fried seafood are VERY kind. I would recommend. Some of the seafood is overpriced but itâs by the pound. Buy what you can afford. Itâs a convenient spot. Itâs near LIRR, E & J trains, Q40,Q6,Q44 sbs, Q60, Q9, Q20A & B and many other buses. Safe because police is always in the area or posted at the train station. No area to dine in. They take Cash,...
Read moreI was referred by a friend to shop here for fresh seafood. I didnât see the live crabs in the tank so I bought the stone crab that were already de-shelled. I picked the I thought were perfect and a bag of mussels. Once home, the mussels went into some salt water so they could release any sand within them. I cleaned and cooked the stone crab. The mussels never opened đ©only two or three was releasing bubbles, which means they were alive and all the others were dead. I threw them all in the garbage. The crabs once finished, were crumbling. The meat was not edible. I realized that when I was in the store, the workers was laughing. Not paying any attention, they knew the seafood was bad but was selling it anyway. Good thing it was only $29 but will...
