The bartenders were friendly and the wine was good, but we had a negative experience with one of the male staff members working on the patio. As we walked back to our friends who were already out there and to hand one of them their glass of wine, he told us, "Just so you know, the patio will be closing in 5 minutes." We politely acknowledged that and continued walking, but he then said, "I didn't tell you we're closing in 5 minutes just for you to come back here and hang out."
That comment caught us a little off guard, especially since we weren't necessarily planning to stay and linger, but half our group was back there and we had wine to give to one of them. If he didn't want anyone else to enter the patio, that's totally fine, but say that clearly because "in 5 minutes" and "now" are not the same and customers are not mind readers.
He ended up clearing the patio immediately after anyway, and was very outwardly annoyed with everything. The whole exchange gave off a pretty negative vibe. Maybe they're just understaffed or dealing with stress--in which case I hope they can get some extra support to handle the crowds, because it's really not fun to interact with...
Read moreFun concept that they’ve absolutely ruined with rude and impersonal service.
We got in, someone started helping us, surveying what wines we liked, and then went off to get our wines. While we waited, another employee came over, greeted us, and started asking us the same questions. I politely interjected that I think another employee was already helping us. He (aggressively) said, “and I’m telling you that I’m helping you now”. We were all a bit stunned. The other employee came back, and they had some kind of weird tense interaction. Bizarre vibes.
The actual selection process of the wines is pretentious and unhelpful. My friend tried her wine, said it was a bit too sweet for her, and the employee asked condescendingly, “are you sure? you know there’s no added sugar in there, right?”. Later on, another friend came by and they asked what she liked, she said “orange wine” and they just went off to grab a wine without any follow-up. What’s the point of having no menu if you’re not going to put any effort into finding out what the customer wants? Just an overall...
Read moreI typically don’t leave google reviews but I just had to stop by to give this space their flowers. I reserved an outdoor table to celebrate by birthday for 20 guests in the late afternoon. The service for one was amazing. It was like having our own personal sommelier. They brought over wines based on our stated preferences, food, and clean glasses to replace the old throughout the afternoon into the evening. When we arrived, Sauced was backed with guests, seated out front, inside, and outback. The vibe was just so welcoming and inviting and high spirited. You can tell they’ve built an amazing community of patrons over the years. I just can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed celebrating my birthday here so thank you Sauced. Consider hosting a special event or simply popping in with a friend or two to enjoy their amazing...
