Undoubtably the most affordable nail salon in Williamsburg by a longshot. I come here every month to get a gel extension fill in for just $65. I usually request Linda but also like Tom. Risher was very rough with my cuticles and really hurt them when grinding off my old gel nail polish. As other reviewers recommend, find someone you like and stick to them. They are kinda bad about scheduling appointments- always running at least 20-30 min late and accepting every single walk in even if they are totally full. So even if you arrive on time for an appointment you will wait. You can call the same day to request an appointment with a specific and that’s usually fine (still some delays). But if you call for an appointment with no specific nail tech, they don’t even ask your name and seem to forget the appointment to begin with. Quality of the gel extension manicures and fill-ins is excellent. I have not tried pedicures here yet but they seem popular. They have the most color options I have ever seen at any salon and are constantly getting more! They have a loyalty program

this place overcharged me over dip powder and gel pedicure $120 and they were laughing in my face which wasn’t even worth that amount , it should’ve been cheaper and its my natural nails no tips .

This is the best nail salon I’ve ever been to and the only one I’ll go to in NYC from now on! First off, their prices are actually reasonable. And it’s even better that the quality is what it is. I get a powder mani here and it will easily last me a month for reference. And they give you a quick shoulder massage at the end which is wonderful. I also love that they offer pretty much everything you could think of in the way of designs. They have cateye, chrome, metallics, glitter, hundreds of powder and gel colors, and they do amazing custom designs! I’ve attached 2 they’ve done for me. The nail techs are meticulous and go the extra mile to do great work. They will start over on a nail if it’s not up to their standards. On my wing design the artist did chrome (which is way harder than simply doing a metallic polish) because she said it would look better. They don’t balk at a complicated design. They just go for it! And I love that. This place rocks and I cannot recommend them enough!

This place has classic racist energy and the people who work here don’t even hide it or care. This was my second time here, and even the smallest missteps will ensure I don’t return back.

I came in and someone (her name may have been Ivy, I think she was one of the managers) greeted me and said nothing else. She was wrapping up a few things so I waited for her to finish and bring her attention to me. I continued to stand at the front with no further acknowledgment, but a woman of the palm-colored variety came in and stood next to me, was greeted immediately and asked about the service she wanted. I then said, once those two were finished, that I had been standing here so was she (Ivy) going to ask me what I wanted so I could get serviced. Ivy laughed it off, and I let her know that I came in a bit over a week ago and needed two toes fixed from my previous visit. I was prepared to pay for the fix, even though it was initially their fault but I had waited to go back since their salon wasn’t in my home neighborhood. Ivy had assumed I probably wanted a free fix and asked if I could show my bank statement detailing when I came to them. Because I planned to pay, I didn’t find providing that extra stuff to be necessary and I reiterated that. I didn’t really like the tone of the conversation but I sat and waited to get serviced.

Ivy had me wait about 20 mins and eventually said she would do the fix. No problem. When I was ready to leave and pay, there was another palm-colored woman paying ahead of me, and she was met with Ivy’s warmth and kindness. When I came up, Ivy curtly said “5 dollars”. I pay my $5 and she doesn’t say thank you or anything. I was so uncomfortable and told her that I’ve seen the way she’s treated other people who don’t look like me and the she has interacted with me made me feel uncomfortable and that I found her behavior to be inappropriate and unacceptable. She just said “ok” and walked away.

Super unfortunate and unnecessarily uncomfortable experience for me, and we know how these places operate so I guess it’s on to the next.

EDIT 6/3: The response from the owner is a lie. Ivy could have cared less about my complaints and concerns. Blaming differences in culture and communication in the big year of 2024 as a SERVICES BUSINESS is a huge cop out and your establishment takes zero accountability for making me feel uncomfortable. Ivy did not only refuse to acknowledge my concerns, she was rude, ignored me and walked away as if what I said didn’t make sense. Ivy knew what she was doing, she knew what I was saying, and she still decided to act racist. And for that, I maintain my stance on my experience and will not remove my negative review, which I told ivy i was making before I left. Additionally we see here that the owner chose to not offer an apology in their response, so if that doesn’t tell you anything about how they do...

My review is for my experience with massages, only.

I have been to this nail salon more times than my check-ins show, and I leave pleased every time.

I am the type of person not to make appointments. I just roll up to places and hope that they're no lines and usually there's not. Works everywhere I go. I have never waited longer than 5-7mins at Lys Nail & Spa. The ladies always greet me when I walk thru the door; they are super friendly.

The place is clean and quiet. There is always a few women getting their manicure and pedicures done. Everyone looks pleased and calm. No ratchetness or loud chatter in here.

Massages are on a chair since they are 20mins long. Can't say that I am knocked out during my massages. I enjoy my massages awake. Nothing feels more wasted than falling asleep for an entire massage. That is the equal of a night of drinking without feeling any buzz. Like what's even the point?! I am up and aware and always more than willing to show Anna where she should massage next.

Shirley is good at massages too; I have tried her twice. The MVP goes to Anna, though! Anna is spectacular. It's been a long time since I've had someone as good as her. I praise those hands. I will be happy to spend money; she is worth every dime.

They accept cash and credit cards.

Points card that they store in a notebook for you. (I have lost three)

Mani & Pedi for $28 (Not sure if it's an everyday deal)

Massages are 10min for $10, 20min for $21, 30mins for...

DONT GO HERE. BIGGEST WASTE OF MY TIME. SPENT 1 1/2 WAITING AND WALKED OUT because they lied and said it would be 30 minutes…. They were literally so unprofessional. I walked in and tried to make an appointment. They said i could come back in 30 minutes and when I did they told me to have a seat. I WAITED 49 minutes and then it wasnt until I ASKED how much longer it would be when they finally gave me a seat. They explained it would be another 10 minutes and I WAITED ANOTHER 15. After 15 minutes I explained that I had been waiting over an hour and that I had to be somewhere. They shrugged their shoulders and told me 2 minutes. I had to walk out after I waited ANOTHER 7 minutes (no sign of them seeing me in any time close to then) Meanwhile people are coming in with planned appointments and they aren't even taking THEM on time, making them wait an additional 30 minutes. You can ask me to be patient. I will wait. But to straight up lie to people just to keep business coming in is so unprofessional. Im going to stick to my place on the lower east side that is 1) half the price 2) professional. NEVER GO HERE IF YOU ARE DEBATING IT HERE IS...
