FRIDAY March_15_2024 TIME: 2:04pm
My order: (#D2) 2 Fried Eggs, Beautifully Seasoned Chicken Chop(chicken breast)Substitute toast with waffles plus a small coffee.
After a long stressful exam I had taken earlier in the day. I was in the mood for a legit breakfast. To me breakfast in the afternoon; should ALWAYS have eggs included on your plate. Everything else is just extra. So as I was walking around the financial district/near Brooklyn Bridge area. I was immediately reminded of Chinatown. Why? Because I was craving breakfast but nothing heavy on my plate. So it’s Friday; I was making my way downtown walking fast through Chinatown; I came across “S WAN CAFE”. I heard through the grapevines of social media that this local “hole in the wall” delicacy serves quite the most unique SUPER AFFORDABLE dishes. I had the breakfast combo (D2) with some modifications. But here’s what I want to focus on. The food was of course absolutely filling with a side of coffee (condensed milk and coffee). But the customer service itself and the actual atmosphere.. wasn’t tooo intimidating; it was a peaceful busy quiet small “quick bite” to order breakfast, lunch and dinner. I believe they do offer door dash and the usually delivery services. But overall customer service and my time there…superb..

Read moreMy friend Mike referred me to this establishment. I made it my regular spot. I would always order the same order: beef stew over rice with an iced lemonade. I came here many times to spend my hard earned money. One day I found a blue rubber band in my food and called and notified the management; they apologized and the next time I came they gave me a free meal to make up for it. I still came back after that. Recently, I found a piece of hair in my food. This time I came back, I ordered no food except an iced tea and the lady behind the counter tried to charge me. Both women had a very suspicious look on their face like I was trying to get over on them for a $10 plate of food. First off, I am an honest person, second my family is in the food business. I guess it’s xenophobia because I’m Not Chinese and they don’t trust me. See attached photos of the hair and rubber band in food. I will never come here again or refer anyone here. Bad business all around and rude people who don’t treat their...
Read moreFor a quick bite after a long day of work or school, this family-owned restaurant is where you want to be! The place is not a big fancy restaurant, but good enough for just a sit-down to enjoy your meal and smell the aroma of the grilled pork chops! Yes, pork chops! S. Wan serves Hong Kong style (Cantonese) dishes, which can only be described as simple, quick, and delicious. I can sure tell you that their best sellers are their pork chops over rice and chicken mushroom over rice, respectively. Why is it so good, because of one thing, their sauce! The sauce that they used to glaze their pork chops and chicken mushroom makes everything oh-so-good. It’s hard to resist looking at what others are eating because everything they have on the menu is just pure goodness! Complete your meal with one of their several beverages like their iced cold red bean drink, or with a cup of grass jelly with sweetened milk; it compliments with all the items they have...
