First off this is what great food looks and tastes like, the atmosphere is perfect for those who love Caribbean cuisine and music while they dine. The vibes remind me of a Sugar Cane in it's hay day. I'm half Trini and half Grenadian so I definitely feel at home when I come here. Every time I come back to Brooklyn this establishment is a must. The recipes remind me your mom and grandma style cooking (major comfort food) but with a new age flair, and the drinks are all tasty, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. My favorite on the menu are Dem Boys Wings, beautifully seasoned chicken fried to perfection with a sweet glaze sauce and passion fruit dipping sauce on the side. I need this recipe lol. The corn soup is Trini-style so it's the perfect consistency, the calaloo could have been a bit thicker (in my opinion). The chicken and waffles are a classic combo but as a Trini I'd appreciate more of the chadon beni flavor to shine through. The Skirt Steak and egg is paired with the best home fries I've had, as they're perfectly seasoned and the ox tail tacos along with the ox tail Mac and cheese had the beautifully braised ox tail meat minus the fatty pieces. The Mango Chow is the perfect compliment to start or end a meal in my opinion, I just added some of their homemade peppa sauce to give it that extra kick I like. I could rant about this place for hours and I will be back to try more of the menu in the future. This restaurant makes me excited for food again, as I feel a lot of the traditional Caribbean place in NYC food quality has gone down over time. Keep up the exceptional work Nat, and cheers to your success.

If you’re looking for bold Caribbean flavors, top-tier cocktails, and a vibe that feels like a mini island escape Savannah Spice has you covered Let’s talk drinks: Sorrel Punch: Creamy, tropical, and smooth with a tangy twist—think piña colada meets island vibes. A certified crowd fave! Sexy Lady: Light, fruity, and dangerously good. We were sipping and guessing ingredients the whole time. Sweet, flirty, and a little mysterious. Now the food? Let’s just say we came hungry and left happy: Sweet Chili Wings + Oreo Waffle: The wings were perfectly sauced with a sweet-spicy glaze that hit every note. The waffle? Rich and cookies-and-cream dreamy—just wish it had a bit more crunch. Chicken & Birthday Cake Waffle: Sweet meets savory in the best way. Colorful sprinkles, juicy fried chicken—fun and flavorful from start to finish. Jerk Wings: Chef’s kiss. Spicy, savory, and full of flavor. Honestly didn’t need the side sauce… but it was still a nice bonus. Calypso Shrimp: Beautifully plated and packed with sweet heat, paired with creamy garlic mash. Not our top pick taste-wise, but major points for presentation. Oxtail Lo Mein: A bold twist on a classic. Tender oxtail, rich sauce, and just the right kick of spice. Flavor was deep, cozy, and satisfying.

Really wish I didn't have to do this but after a stomachache and my friend experiencing nausea, I have to be publicly honest about our dining experience.

We ordered the oxtail pizza, jerked wings, jerked pork and mashed potatoes. Every last item was extremely greasy (excepting the mashed potatoes)...greasy to the extent that oil filled the plates when we were through with the items. The grease soaked the pizza to the point that the back became soggy. We tried but just couldn't enjoy the appetizers; we ended up sending back the jerked pork twice- untouched. Adding to the grease dilemma, where I was seated turned out to be quite dangerous with an ill-placement of the chair. The sauce pairings for both the pork and the wings were rather off...interesting, rather. Also, and finally, the server was stretched thin- slower than expected turnaround and very little attention/engagement- and her menu knowledge was definitely wanting. She tried to convince us that the excess grease was passion fruit SAUCE and not oil...we literally had to pull a property test then and there with her (all while being kind about it, as we know she didn't personally prep the dishes).

I've been to TT and I enjoyed the cuisine and my general experience and had expectations...but this wasn't it. Sorely disappointed to put it kindly; went out all excited for a dining experience and wound up ill by the end of things.

To create some balance, the drinks we had,the ambiance and reservation process were pretty decent.

PS. The response to my review tells me all I need to know about this establishment. The experience was the injury, the response here is insulting. Two guests became unwell as a result of dining at your establishment and this is the tone you take upon receiving a review...good luck keeping your establishment afloat. Black folks represent a large segment of your customer base and we suffer disproportionately from lifestyle diseases; if you don't care about anything else, care about the health of your patrons. My liking to the back, OUR health...

Let me start off my stating how high my expectations were for this place based on the reviews. We entered the location after making reservations and there was no host to seat to us. So we approach the bar and ask the bartender how to be sat, she tells us to wait for a table so we do so.

In the midst of waiting, we noticed the AC wasn’t working so we asked to sit outside which we were told was closed for “maintenance”. We settled with inside despite having to use personal handheld fans to stay cool. Our drinks arrive within 10/15 min, we order appetizers and our food and now we’re waiting. We’re then asked if we would like to sit outside because we were hot, so we agreed. 30, 40, 45, 50 minutes pass us by in the backyard area, no appetizers came and no sight of the food. We also had to connect our phones to their Bluetooth speaker because there was no music outdoors only indoors.

THEN the woman behind us outside screams because she sees a RAT pass under her table. This is why it was under “maintenance”. There were rat traps on the floor in the outdoor dining area. We were so disgusted that we lost our appetite. It is now almost 11:30, we ordered our food at 10:20, nothing. We’re then told that they forgot to put our order in because it was only two servers working the whole restaurant on a Saturday night. I’m never...
