What a disappointing experience! My fiancée and I went here lastnight to hang out. We are on vacation before our wedding and spent some time yesterday searching up bars that were close by since we are not familiar with the area. We are from Maryland and my fiancée's family traveled in from Costa Rica. We settled on this bar because their website ( a Facebook page) had recently posted a flyer, 19 HOURS PRIOR, saying that Tuesday's they had a $2 drink special and FREE admission before 9pm! We figured that this was perfect for a chill night out at a local spot! We invited my soon to be mother in law and her sister along with us. When we got there at around 8:15, to our dismay, there was a bouncer saying that we needed to pay $10 each to get in and that you had to be 25 to enter. Mind you this was NOT stated anywhere on their website which had been very recently updated. We showed him the flyer and inquired on why it said "free before 9pm" if it was really only free until "8pm" and why in the world they didn't state their age requirement ANYWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!! He stated that "these changes were made a few weeks ago and that is why".... That's absolutely absurd seeing as they just posted the ad for "free before 9" YESTERDAY. Talk about bad for business! My fiancée and I are both 24 year old professionals with degrees. I am a U.S. Marine and she is a high school teacher. Being told that I can't walk into an establishment to get a drink because I'm not 25 felt like a slap in the face, this is especially so because that wasn't stated anywhere on the website. Then to add insult to injury, having a bouncer look me in my face and tell me that if i were 25 I would need to drop $40 at 8:15 to get my family in the bar when the flyer on the website clearly says "FREE before 9pm" Just felt extremely disrespectful! And to make matters even worse, when we asked if he could have the manager come outside so we could speak with her, he said she was coming and then she never did. After 15 minutes we felt so insulted that we decided to leave! We are a pretty well off family and were ready to show this local establishment some love and instead we were met with disrespect. To the owner: You should know that other families from out of town will try in the future to enter your establishment. Make sure that you are not falsely advertising your specials and make sure that you make age requirements clear. People expect a "21 or older" policy at a bar, anything other than that should be clearly specified on your website. This is ESPECIALLY the case if the "25 or older requirement" is only for one day...
Read moreThis is my 1st experience eating from this restaurant. I choose it becuz it was black owned. So I support black businesses✊🏾.I ordered through the Uber Eats app becuz of Covid-19.
So I ordered the chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and seasoned curly fries. So I'm not going to completely act as if I'm completely upset becuz I don't know who's fault it is. Yet, I will say I am a little disappointed with how things turned out. So Uber Eats have it labeled as chicken sandwich. So what is not know is fried or grilled. It's FRIED and with CHEESE for those who do not know. On Uber eats it does not clarify that. Google menu also might not have this on the menu at all. So there is no telling that it's served that way or not. As for the seasoned fries, it's a small amount, like just a real hand full and underwhelming.
Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but I think something needs to be done about those issues with clarifying exactly how certain food are being served. The food tasted good despite my displeasure with it being fried chicken sandwich with cheese on it without knowing. Now that I know I would order again with much...
Read moreIt may look small but had to the back and it opens up! There's two bars on in the front and one in the back. The music the DJs played where good. The food isn't over priced but they do charge taxes on the food. I had brought two orders of wings and curly fries at $6 a piece, which should have been $18 but I paid $20.89 cause of taxes. They even sell seafood like crab legs! I only had one drink which costed me $6 and there's was no tax on the drink. They charge $3 for a bottle of water or you can get a free cup of water from a pitcher they keep in the refrigerator with the the Beer and sodas. There is room to dance on the floor between the tables against the wall and the bar. I am not a regular customer, in fact this was my first time going there. But do I think that this spot is great for either a quick bite and drink or to hold a celebration or small crowed party. Don't know how f I myself will be back due to how far I live away (Bronx), but it's seems like a great...
