Shaxian food is not for everyone, it's what I eat growing up tho. It's supposed to be a daily cheap eat. There are two places serve the local delight in the area. This one price is slightly higher and quality is slightly lower, only pro for this location is that they sell some frozen dumplings and wontons that you can take away. Keep in mind that the price is higher due to the inflation.
The soy peanut butter noodle is ok, the sauce is a bit lack of peanut flavor very water down. And they use the round noodle instead of flat noodle that doesn't stick more sauce on the noodle. The wonton is fresh and the meat inside is what it is supposed to, like meatball texture, but the filling is a bit cut corner. I don’t recommend to buy the frozen wonton, they are $11 for small portion and the wrap will break after you cook it because it takes longer to cook through the meat but wrap is already...

I was looking for a quick and cheap meal before an appointment. I first went to a restaurant on whose menu were featured frog soup and pig snout stir fry among other exotic dishes. I'm vegetarian, so I swiftly left. Tried a place next door and found it less complicated. I asked the lady if they had vegetarian dishes. Because of the language barrier, she took her phone out to translate and showed me which dishes I could order. She was extremely sweet.
I waited a long time for my food. I was about to leave when I was served. I had to eat very quickly to make it to my appointment. The veggie dumplings were alright, but the noodles in peanut sauce were bland and overcooked. Not a very enjoyable meal.
Thank you to the nice lady at the counter; she was truly helpful...
Read moreSo I went to this place to order dumpling and shumai’s. They made me wait 10-15 minutes for the food, and when it was ready the cook tossed the food. One of my dumplings fell on the floor and both the cook and the receptionist decided to look my way and when they thought I wasn’t looking placed it back on my plate. The receptionist didn’t know English and I immediately got angry and said you bet not serve me that food! If you dare try you’ll learn today! That’s when she pulled her phone out for google translate and said we’ll give you a new one. At this point and rate, I said ok. Than when the second batch was cooked the cook once more tossed it again! I took the new batch food and just gave it to a homeless person. I wouldn’t recommend this place! If you truly want to eat something that they serve here...
