I’ve literally never been treated like this before. The bouncer is the rudest guy I’ve ever met. He confiscated my actual ID saying it was fake, then asked if I had a passport from “the country I’m from,” when my license clearly states I’m from Texas. I’ve used this ID countless times without issue before because it’s real?? Somehow, then he let us in. Unfortunately, the next day I got dragged again to this same place where he proceeds to do the same. Pretends to check my ID inside the door when he’s actually on his phone then comes outside and tells me it’s fake again. I tell him he let us in yesterday, and he has the nerve to tell me he wasn’t there yesterday. As if I wouldn’t remember his face, facial piercing, accent, and same earphones. Apparently the “detail” that makes my ID fake is on the back of the card, which he never even looked at before declaring it was fake. I had to call the police to get it back for my flight the next day. My domestic flight. Where I didn’t need my American passport. Back to Texas. Because I’m from America.. All in all, if you can get in the door, it’s a nice place. But honestly, I’m never coming back here because of that guy specifically. St. Mark’s is well worth the trek and the guy let me in no problem,...
Read moreI was at a bar, paid $20, and left after a minute and a half. In short - I entered the place, the security guard was very nice. I asked the bartender for a beer, she said it was $7, and when I gave her my credit card, she said the minimum was $20 on credit. So I said it's no problem, bring me 2 beers and keep $6 as a tip. After she returned my card, I asked to sing songs, and to my surprise, each song cost $2. When I asked why she didn't mention it before I paid for the first time, she yelled at me, saying "Who doesn't come to a bar with cash?" She raised her voice, spoke disrespectfully, and after I told her it was my first time being told this, she laughed and moved on to the next customer. Of course, I took my leave and left. To the owner, take note - I'm a regular customer of karaoke bars in New York and around the world, and such a thing has never happened to me. I'm sure, just as disappointed as I left because of her, many others have too. I hope you'll resolve this with her because I won't be coming back...
Read moreBar tender was great vibes... Security guard on the other hand... Two words: power trip. Was told outside drinks were not allowed, the vibes were off to a bad start. I asked what if I empty the bottle as I need the bottle. "It's the rules/policy" okay. I don't mind at all. I'm just confused, not even just an empty bottle ? Was told to put it on the ATM, don't know where that is. I try to leave to take it outside and throw it away and then was startled being yelled at by the security guard to put it on the ATM. They expect me, a young woman in NYC to leave my drink unattended in a hallway... Then continues to yell at me as I am confused because I don't know where the ATM it and he's saying I'm combative. You don't get to have a bad attitude and expect me to react like you just gave me 1million dollars . You can tell me what to do with my water bottle in your bar, you can't keep directing me to do whatever you say after I start to step outside. Unfortunately will not be...
