I asked for Pattaya noodles off the menu which I have had multiple times at the Union Square location. I asked for no scallion or green onion. I made it very clear to the waitress and mentioned i have shellfish allergy as well as a sensitivity to onion. She brought me my food and I was trying to flag her down. She did not come to my table for a few minutes, which is fine but when she did I mentioned it her. Aside from the onion, there was a lack of flavor and the noodles tasted old. I ordered a drink as well. I took two bites of it and could not eat it. The manager gave me 5% off of a meal I could not eat. I mentioned they need to be more careful because a slip up like this with an ingredient someone is highly allergic to can cause a medicinal emergency. Such bad customer service and terrible food in comparison from the other union square location. I do not recommend this location based on customer service and most importantly food quality.

Come for the lunch specials and eat like a king for under $18 with tip! I can only vouch for the Shrimp fritters (although truth be told, they are mostly made of ground chicken, which is misleading, especially to vegetarians, but I don't mind!) but they are absolutely DELICIOUS! Slightly crunchy and golden brown on the outside, with flavorful ground chicken and a bit of shrimp inside, in a sweet chili sauce. They are a must have! For entrees, I've had the panang curry w/chicken which is my new favorite, and the masaman curry with beef. Both are delicious, but lately the panang curry gets the nod for it's complex sweet n spicy flavor.

This is an updated review for a takeout lunch order. The signature shrimp fritter has been my favorite appetizer; but the seafood tom yum soup is so delightfully tangy and spicy that I probably would order it as a separate course. The green curry fried rice is a wonderful dish, especially during these colder months. Earlier review: Lunch takeout took less than 10 minutes to be ready. Among the appetizers, the shrimp fritters are my favorite. The Pad Thai, which I’ve ordered multiple times, is consistently good. The pork in the Japanese eggplant holy basil could be more tender.

The food is below mediocre. Some of us got sick and had diarrhea when we got home several hours later. When were eating, some of the dishes didn't taste right, so we informed them about the food's taste and they would say it is the sauce... Many of us never finished the dishes we ordered...Food was that bad!!!

Second, they stuck us in an area in the rear of the dinning room area where we were all barely able to sit, but to squeeze in. It was not comfortable and they knew ahead of time of our party by the reservation place days earlier. The staff can't handle a large party, but they are willing help themselves to good tip of 18% that they will add to the bill!!!

Third, our table had an incomplete setting of forks and napkins for everyone. We had to ask for the utensils when the food came out. It took the dinning room staff that long to get it together.

Fourth, we were also constantly asking for water, to which a first week working training bus boy would know to keep the water class filled as a dinning room procedure.

Fifth, the management does not know how to cater or to interact with customer's complaints with their mindless policies. At the end of the dinner they decided to enforced it a "no bring in desert policy" to what was distributed by the wife for the husband's birthday party. The desserts were 12 small cup cakes to 12 people amongst 18 people to be eaten hand held and they charged $40 for "bringing in desert!!!!" I did not pay for this additional charge, but the birthday husband's wife did pay as not to create a scene.

When leaving, I confronted management and told them that it was a poor judgement call in charging us due to the circumstances that not everyone ate or used their "bring in dessert services!" They responded that "they don't care about losing our future business"...

The management thinks that dropping $435.00 for a party of 18 people for their mediocre food and poor service is okay; well they are out of their useless minds and you would be too, if you go and support this...

I used to like spice. I used to go there for lunch almost every day for 5 years. I used to be a faithful customer; that is until they decided to interrupt a conversation between myself and my friend to ask for a tip. Not only was it abrupt and rude, not all service warrants a tip. It isn't mandatory and there wasn't an overwhelming amount of service provided. We came in, ordered food and sat for an hour. The house wasn't busy, it was virtually empty when we got there and empty when we left. After my friend explained why there wasn't a tip left, and even the current interaction that warrants not leaving a tip, the waitress decides to walk off with an attitude and mouth off in her native tongue. Not only is that EXTREMELY RUDE AND unprofessional, but you really shouldn't assume that I, or any of your other customers only speak English. So, insults start flying because that rudeness doesn't sit well with my friend and as we are heading toward the door, along with the waitress the actual manager on staff that night joins in with the insults and laugher and proceeds to tell us don't come back. Seriously? I'm polite, but I'm not the friendliest guy in the world. That situation could have gone 7 different ways had we not left. Ms. Manager whoever you are being that I didn't get your name, as I was saying as I left, is any of that even necessary? You know your staff was wrong but you chose to join in in the mockery and insults why? Because you think I don't understand that we were being insulted? So it was ok to insult us to our face? Then you say "yes don't come back here." 5 years, I walked from my job to have lunch at spice or picked it up to bring it back. I'll never step foot inside any Spice in the franchise ever again and congratulations that is your fault....

OFFICE MANAGER SAM ( on receipt says IYARA, so clearly she lied about her name) SAM aka IYARA do not know what customer service is, SAM aka IYARA should be fired for speaking to customers so rude. this office manager actually put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back on the phone and said you DON'T KNOW YOUR ORDER AND SAYING " AHHH " i was ordering for 9 people for a office lunch and hence i have to get each order in correctly. You have no patience, no customer service skills and the fact remains is that I was bringing in alot of income for your location and my large order is what is paying for your apartment. As a office manager myself i would never speak to my clients in such manner. What a disgrace you have given to the Spice name. In order to place this order i was on hold several times, and my total time just to place this order was 28 minutes and 14 seconds. i was even hanged up on and had to restart the entire order. THIS IS THE LAST OF MY BUSINESS TO YOUR LOCATION AND SPICE CAN THANK SAM THEIR "OFFICE MANAGER" WITH NO SKILLS. instead of spending that long and still messing up my order and having to deal with your rude, i called you out on your lies about your name, and yet again you are muttering under your breath while im on the phone, SAM aka IYARA UNPROFESSIONAL ISM should be gotten rid of...
