My Upkeep Medspa experience was absolutely amazing. This was my first time getting fillers, so I was anxious and even debating if I should do them or not. I did my research & found upkeep medspa. Their communication: 100%. Their response time whether it’s on social media (IG) or text, they reply immediately. This helped lower my anxiety. Their prices: THE BEST. Their prices are affordable but I absolutely love that they have specials & giveaways literally almost every month. Their bedside manner: fantastic. The moment I booked my appt, and came in to the upper east side location, the front desk team member was warm and welcome. Now, let me get to the actual juicy part. MY LIPS. I did some heavy research on the team because ultimately I wanted to choose who I would get my lip fillers with. Honestly, all of them and their work looked great. But CYNTHIA PEREZ... I knew the moment I saw HER work, I had to have her do my lips. Her bedside manner (nurse-to-patient) relationship & etiquette was OUTSTANDING. I showed her some pics and she communicated what she loved about my lips and how she would enhance them to show it’s ultimate beauty. She communicates the proper patient education in means of knowing what happens before during and after the lip fillers. For example, telling me what to expect with pain, swelling, what to avoid for 24 hrs and how to manage with it all. I had a a bigger top lip to begin with, but we agreed that my bottom lip needed love and she would also work on my top to make sure everything looked beautiful. The numbing cream worked like magic and she came in and did her work in about 20-30 mins..As far as the pain, like I said, she already prepped me in areas of the lip fillers that would be painful upon insertion but ultimately the pain was nothing and I don’t have a high tolerance for pain. Like any lip fillers, Immediately they are SWOLLEN. BUT, do NOT worry it goes down 24-48 hrs. Even so, she did such a beautiful job that even with the swelling it looked so good. After the swelling and bruising went down with ice & rest (again information she tells you about), my lips looked beautiful. I had already thanked her privately but I truly cannot have enough words to thank her and the upkeep med spa team. I know this is a written novel, and they did not force me to review but I just really wanted to share my experience. I truly believe all the NPs, RNs and brand reps overall are such a great collaborative team. They make you feel loved and confident before and after your treatment. Cynthia Perez & upkeep medspa will definitely see me again! Thank you...
Read moreThis store is the equivalent of the nail salons where they yell, "pick a color!" or "HURRY UP & BUY!" I used the word "store," bc a "spa" is very VERY far fetched. Having fallen for the targeted ads on social media & threatened with a 200$ change/cancellation fee, I arrived to my first ever injectable consultation.
As a 1st timer, I DO NOT recommend Upkeep Medspa. Policy allots abt 15 min per service, regardless of how inexperienced you or your injector are. I had the pleasure of watching mine get visibly frustrated as I experienced a panic attack in the chair. Their job is to upsell & push procedures onto impressionable clients by creating doubt where there is none.
The rooms are tiny, a claustrophobe would never survive. I went in to discuss volume loss in the mid face, smile lines & lip symmetry; I learned nothing about my queries but spent 400$ on Botox that I never wanted.
My once seductive, naturally fox shaped eyes are now in a state of nonchalance, as I can't raise my eyebrows & my outside corners are drooping instead of lifted. My smiley, animated face, left expressionless & empty. In an attempt to preserve my youthful appearance, the opposite occured -- now I actually look my age, if not older, with a frozen & unrealistically flat forehead.
Medical practicioners should not accept tips - it's wildly unprofessional!! The audacity to expect a tip after a MEDICAL PROCEDURE is insane! "You can leave your tip here, you can tip through Venmo or directly on their ig," were the receptionist's exact words. If you heard that at the urgent care, ER or your pediatrician's office - you'd question their professionalism & most likely never return.
I've seen some distasteful business practices but medical practitioners accepting tips is THE most inappropriate behavior I have ever witnessed. The Botox in time will dissolve but the bad taste left by this chop...
Read moreI found them on ig and have been wanting to go to Cynthia for her lip fillers but ended up going for a facial microneedling with florhella (not sure how to spell the name). I convinced my little cousin to come along as they were having a promo. 99 bucks! It was our first time and we were so nervous but it didn't hurt till it got around the forehead alittle. But even that was barely anything. I felt like that whole process was very quick. Almost too quick. I didn't feel too satisfied with the work. Didnt feel like woah relaxed after a typixal simple facial. No one asked the reason for us why we were getting it done. Our concerns. What we hoped to achieve. I've msged them if certain products are ok to use to help with the microneedling healing process after booking with them and no one responded after I confirmed the booking. No advice as to what facials would be best for us. I was done in less than 30min. No rubs at all so don't expect any temple rubs of some sort. Skin doesn't feel like what most if not all people feel. The tightness the dryness or excitement of the healing process. I wasn't red by the end of the night. My face is like how it was when I went in... it's a no for me. It's just a esthetically pleasing place. Pretty interior. Very internet and social media dependant. Maybe better luck with lip.fillers with Cynthia. I really love her work from the pics I've seen. Facials... probably not. They loudly asked if you want to leave tip. Def feel like you're pushed to give a lot. We all know how the iPad system works. You don't need to say it outloud and emphasize Front desk little girls didn't wear mask and I couldn't even put mine on after...
