Every recipe has a story. The Jews who immigrated to New York in the late 19th and early 20th centuries brought with them Jewish culture to the city, an important part of which, as in any culture, was food. The bagel itself, the salmon bagel, the babka, the blintzes, the Jewish pastrami, all of these became part of American culture, in a city that was once a bustling Jewish center. It is wonderful to discover that the Cheeseburger was also brought to American culture by a 17-year-old Jewish boy from California in 1924. Lionel Clark Sternberger, worked with his father, Herman Solomon Sternberger, at the family hamburger stand,“The right spot”. Add in lots of gristle and chewy bits of tendon, so I was spitting out the majority of each bite. I gave up after 4 bites due to the massive amount of foreign matter making me feel nauseous. The French fries...
Read moreHands down one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had! The patties were perfectly juicy with that crispy edge, and you can really taste the difference in quality since everything is halal. The toppings were fresh, the buns were soft but held up well, and the flavor combination was on point.
The service was quick and friendly, and the place had a good vibe—clean and welcoming. Prices are fair for the quality you’re getting, and the portions definitely hit the spot. I left full, satisfied, and already planning my next visit.
If you’re looking for a proper halal smash burger that actually lives up to the hype, this is the place!...
