TLDR: Fresh, tasty sushi at reasonable prices with fantastic service! Truly won’t regret coming here! Had actually made a reservation here as a back up if there was too long of a wait at Nami Nori and honestly so glad that there was because this place is SLEPT ON. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and unique - honestly best sushi I’ve had thus far in NYC. And the icing on the top… it didn’t break the bank! Omakase is ~$70-$110 and a typical roll is ~$10. We got a ton of different stuff and honestly everything was so good - I don’t think you can go wrong here! Pictured is the King Salmon, which was like butter - it was SO tasty. Whole heartedly recommend that you pay this spot a visit!

Me and a friend showed up an hour before they closed. The owner Lin (the gentleman in the photo) served us and I couldn’t say better things. He was fun to talk with and insanely talented in his craft. This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We left at closing time and I made sure to capture an image of Lin for this review. He played along despite being busy cleaning. He was incredibly nice the entire time and even had us try different types of sushi after. Definitely an experience that’s different than most dinners. I had the Omakase 10 piece and it was just the right amount. Highly recommend!

Small but busy sushi joint. Almost gives off Ramen vibes. A menue design for sushi lovers. Ordered the simple nigori sushi chef choice. Best part? Sushi comes pre-season with enough wasabi/soy sauce per chef's recommendation. This forced me to eat the sushi as is and it really allowed for the fish to speak for itself. No strong flavors. Everything nicely blended and melted at times in your mouth. Even the extra soy/wasabi/radish is potent and flavorful. It's a reminder that 90% of the sushi you get is mediocre.

So some sort of an Arcadian vision of a sushi bar, or something like that. I mean, this was my first omakase, so I'm assuming that all omakase are like this to some extent, and maybe there are many better than this. I don't know. I wouldn't be the expert on that. But here, I felt like I had a dozen different meals - I even forgot some of them - but each showed off and the hardest question was the chef constantly asking "which one's your favorite so far" my guy I think each one is really incomparably good it's actually hard to answer that. You're just asking me what type of fish I like. And I don't want my prejudices to tell me what I like and don't like. I think this chef can surprise you. Ebi is usually my least favorite. Here, it wasn't necessarily my favorite either, but it was the most memorable one, because although it is just a shrimp, clearly, it's got a very different texture from what I expect from shrimp. Here, you don't make any choices with the dressing or the soy sauce. And that's for you, so that you don't make a mistake of just eyeballing the soy sauce yourself. I ordered the 15 piece omakase because why not, and I'm a barely working adult, I don't pay a hundred bucks for a meal. But this one I actually felt like this might have been worth more and I'd have complied silently. It's not a meal you have to go finish off some dinner while chatting though. I think this is made for like, a sort of a conversation with the food, and the chef. I don't write this pretentiously normally btw. Or...

A couple of friends, who live in the vicinity, introduced us to Sushi 456, and it didn't take long for us to understand their enthusiasm for this place. The restaurant excels in numerous aspects. From the moment we walked in, the staff was not only welcoming but also promptly presented us with an appetizer, allowing us to ponder our choices. However, we were set on trying the Omakase. The pacing of the meal was impeccable, with just the right intervals between dishes for engaging conversations, yet we never felt pressured to hurry. The service was efficiently timed throughout our dining experience. Every piece of fish served was outstanding, reminiscent of the prestigious, old-school sushi bars on the west coast that have gained acclaim in NYC. However, what sets Sushi 456 apart is its affordability, which is surprisingly reasonable and inspired us to leave a generous tip. I was particularly impressed by the Toro and the hand rolls. It's been merely five days since our visit, and we're already planning our next trip there. I highly recommend giving it a try; you're sure to...

I am blown away by how awful the staff was at this place. My friends had been several times and raved about how incredible the sushi is (it is great). The restaurant is currently BYOB and there is the cutest little liquor store across the street which is amazing. We picked up a bottle of white wine and headed over. At first things were going well - everyone ordered two rolls and we enjoyed our wine and hung out. We were about an hour into our reservation and had literally JUST finished eating when the server came over - literally whispered in our friends ear that “she checked her computer and we had been in the restaurant for three hours.” We we’re all so confused because it had literally been an hour - not even an hour and a half? I get it - most places have a 90 min limit which we didn’t even reach but the blatant disrespect was beyond me. There are SO many other sushi places that I will not be returning nor will...
