City Tails NYC — Local services in New York

I have been using City Tails for over two years and I feel so lucky to have found this neighborhood gem. The people who run it, and the people who work there, love our dog and treat her as if she is their own. It is obvious how much our dog likes going to City Tails because she always gets so excited when the door opens. Occasionally, we will see one of the City Tails employees in our neighborhood and my dog will go right over to them for a belly rub!

Our mini Australian Shepherd goes to daycare pretty much every week and City Tails is very accommodating and easygoing with our unpredictable schedule. Scheduling is super easy and they have been able to take my dog even when I text them the night before.

City Tails has also been a great place for our dog to stay overnight if we go out of town for a few days. They do a great job with her meals, relief walks, and medication, but mostly I know they are giving her the love and attention she would be getting at home. They even send pictures from daycare and overnights so we can see what she's up to. Our family has a shared photo album just for these pictures because we love them so much!

I have also used City Tails for walks, including bringing my dog home from daycare. This is especially helpful if I'm going to be out past regular daycare pickup time.

City Tails has also helped me when I have had family emergencies and could not take the dog out for her walk. Recently, I had to take my child to the doctor for a medical emergency and I texted City Tails as I headed out the door and asked if they could help. On very short notice, they were able to come and get her from my apartment and take her to daycare for the day so I could focus on my child. It gives me great peace of mind to know that I have a partner in City Tails in case something out of the ordinary comes up.

Everyone I've met at City Tails is friendly and reliable and they have an obvious love for dogs. I feel so fortunate to have them as a partner to help with my beloved furry friend. And, most importantly, my dog...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Joel and his entire staff. Not only are they always willing and able to work with my unpredictable schedule, they also always put me at ease when I leave my dog here knowing she is in the absolute best care as if my dog was their own. I have been taking my dog to City Tails for day care and overnight boarding for several years now and the only thing I have to worry about is if my dog wants to come back home with me! I have a Border Collie / Aussie mix (read a HIGH energy handful) and the staff is constantly engaged, providing many daily updates, photos, and videos during her stays. The dogs are taken out often and get ample socialization with, not only the other dogs, but with the staff too. This is not always the case at other at other facilities in the city, or out of the city for that matter. I just recently had to board my dog for an almost 2 month stay and I would never think twice about boarding my dog anywhere else after such a positive and stress free experience. Joel and his staff truly love what they do and it shows in how they care for all the dogs that are under their care. ...

I wish there was a rating of 100 stars available! I am absolutely, totally obsessed with City Tails! As a new pup owner, I was very nervous and particular about who Louie Marcel would spend his time away from me. City Tails for the WIN! Joel and his entire team are the most incredible, caring, knowledgeable, accommodating, loving people I think I have ever met in NYC and beyond. City Tails has become Louie's family, where he is loved and protected and where he has made so many pup friends - and of course, a few pretty girlfriends. Every day we go to City Tails, Louie begins a sprint from 2 blocks away. On a rare day that we don't go, Louie sits at my door waiting for me to take him to City Tails (and of course, then I call Joel and add him for an afternoon visit)

Joel sends amazing videos and pics all day - which is just incredible and comforting. Any time Louie has special needs (he's a frenchie, so all the time) Joel and his team are so beyond accommodating.
