We came here for take out. We have been coming here for a long time. We ordered take out as there’s no seating. The person who took out order had a hard time understanding. Food was given promptly and when we brought it home , it was piping hot. We ordered chicken Lo mein, yang chow fried rice and combined platter with beef &broccoli. Chicken lo mein was not over sauces but chicken was dry. Yang chow fried rice was too salty from the last time we had it. Combination platter- beef was chewy , broccoli was cooked well. Egg roll was doughy and not the crispy type. This time , everything we had was tasting different but not for the better….

Tacks has had my heart since i lived in SI. I remember saving up to get a lunch special of general tso's and pork fried rice and eating it up faster than you can say scrumlicious! Tacks is still family owned and operated from what i can tell (and they work hard), flying in from the west coast to eat a childhood guilty pleasure of mind did not dissapoint. Best local chinese takeout place in staten island bar none.

When I first tried the food years ago, the food was underwhelming—bland sauces, greasy dishes, and nothing memorable after a change in ownership. Now the food taste similar to the previous owners cooking. It has more flavor and the spare ribs which I originally order now taste amazing and I gained couple pounds eating the good food. Would recommend to those that like Chinese food

This is my first time dining at this unique restaurant with my husband and daughter, and I absolutely loved it!. I'm a sucker for Chinese food, and this place really stood out to me. The wonderful, savory, delicate aroma could be smelled from the outside of the restaurant.

The servers made me feel very welcome, and I enjoyed their services.

The menu was stacked with different Chinese cuisines. The amount of options was mind blowing, I was quite impressed.

The food there was absolutely incredible, especially the fried rice. It was so flaky and flavorful, If you're looking forward to going to this restaurant, I highly recommend ordering the chicken fried rice for starters. This is one of the very few restaurants I've given 5 stars. I usually don't give out a lot of 5 stars, since I'm very strict on reviews. If a restaurant's service and food is terrible, I write about it in my review; I'm a pretty honest person, and I'll definitely tell you if your restaurant wasn't up to my standards.

This was a wonderful experience, I am one hundred percent coming...

What a bitter sweet ending to a brisk fall day. After a long relaxing walk in the trails of Staten Island, one could work up an appetite or two! That’s when we were shadowed with a lovely lake side restaurant with lovely decor that lured us all in! After settling in, we couldn’t help but notice that we were about to spend a pretty penny on dinner! What shall we do!? It’s only Thursday and payday hasn’t even arrived yet! That’s when Tacks Chinese Restaurant was brought to our attention. Having eaten here once before I knew this was the choice for us. For roughly $85 we were more than satisfied and Tacks didn’t miss a beat! From the mouth watering chicken wings to the crispy noodles with sweet duck sauce. I highly recommend this to everyone on Staten Island. Everyone was able to have their own fortune cookie after as well. Did I mention they now take Credit Card in store as well! Score!!!!! i will definitely be ordering from them...

I have absolutely no idea how this place has such good reviews. First off, they don't take credit card. Always a good sign. Second, I asked in my delivery order for fried noodles and duck sauce, which the girl offered to throw in. Noodles were not included and I got one packet of duck sauce. Apparently, you have to pay extra for that to begin with. Pathetic. Now for the food. The wonton soup was average. Nothing bad, nothing good. The shrimp toast was disgusting. Soggy, weird smelling, and according to the 3 other people in my household who tried it, gross. The pork in the dumplings was very grisly. The sesame chicken was horrendous. Slimy chicken, gray, and not cleaned well. The egg roll had a sour tangy taste. Something I never tasted before in a pork egg roll. Suffice to say, I won't be ordering from them again. Dog is getting some decent...
