This is my first time dining at this unique restaurant with my husband and daughter, and I absolutely loved it!. I'm a sucker for Chinese food, and this place really stood out to me. The wonderful, savory, delicate aroma could be smelled from the outside of the restaurant.
The servers made me feel very welcome, and I enjoyed their services.
The menu was stacked with different Chinese cuisines. The amount of options was mind blowing, I was quite impressed.
The food there was absolutely incredible, especially the fried rice. It was so flaky and flavorful, If you're looking forward to going to this restaurant, I highly recommend ordering the chicken fried rice for starters. This is one of the very few restaurants I've given 5 stars. I usually don't give out a lot of 5 stars, since I'm very strict on reviews. If a restaurant's service and food is terrible, I write about it in my review; I'm a pretty honest person, and I'll definitely tell you if your restaurant wasn't up to my standards.
This was a wonderful experience, I am one hundred percent coming...
Read moreWhat a bitter sweet ending to a brisk fall day. After a long relaxing walk in the trails of Staten Island, one could work up an appetite or two! That’s when we were shadowed with a lovely lake side restaurant with lovely decor that lured us all in! After settling in, we couldn’t help but notice that we were about to spend a pretty penny on dinner! What shall we do!? It’s only Thursday and payday hasn’t even arrived yet! That’s when Tacks Chinese Restaurant was brought to our attention. Having eaten here once before I knew this was the choice for us. For roughly $85 we were more than satisfied and Tacks didn’t miss a beat! From the mouth watering chicken wings to the crispy noodles with sweet duck sauce. I highly recommend this to everyone on Staten Island. Everyone was able to have their own fortune cookie after as well. Did I mention they now take Credit Card in store as well! Score!!!!! i will definitely be ordering from them...
Read moreI have absolutely no idea how this place has such good reviews. First off, they don't take credit card. Always a good sign. Second, I asked in my delivery order for fried noodles and duck sauce, which the girl offered to throw in. Noodles were not included and I got one packet of duck sauce. Apparently, you have to pay extra for that to begin with. Pathetic. Now for the food. The wonton soup was average. Nothing bad, nothing good. The shrimp toast was disgusting. Soggy, weird smelling, and according to the 3 other people in my household who tried it, gross. The pork in the dumplings was very grisly. The sesame chicken was horrendous. Slimy chicken, gray, and not cleaned well. The egg roll had a sour tangy taste. Something I never tasted before in a pork egg roll. Suffice to say, I won't be ordering from them again. Dog is getting some decent...
