UPDATE Sept 15: I appreciate the thoughtful response and how this was received so changing the rating back to 5 stars. Unfortunately I didn't see the response until now but it does seem from my bank statement that it was addresse in an appropriate manner. (not entirely sure what but the charge is substantially lower, beyond the supposed return even, than the original bill). Thank you! Sept 9 :Bummed that I have write this as I really enjoy this place. The food is delicious and the atmosphere really nice. I went in for breakfast on a rainy morning on my way to work. I realized after I paid that I was overcharged for something extra that I didn't order. I asked about it and I was told it was accidental. I was told I would get a refund for the overcharge and have the sandwich redone. I had to ask for the refund again and still am not sure I was refunded since it is not posted on my card and the server told me I could not get a receipt for the refund. I now have to spend all the extra time to review the credit card statements and dispute the charge if it wasn't actually refunded. The whole thing was kinda sketchy and very unprofessional. I really would like to go back here because the food is really good but all this time and effort wasted when you are just trying to get a coffee and breakfast is...

I have two complaints: Firstly, the first thing is that the food at the other NYC locations where I've been isn't as good! It seems precooked and reheated! 😒 Secondly, there's this "gentleman" who I always find sitting at the same table, busy with his computer... I think he might be the owner or the manager, I don't know 🤷‍♂ maybe I'm mistaken! But if that's the case, he doesn't seem to notice anything happening around him. The store was packed with people, and it was scorching hot outside. We had to wait so long to get our order because the person behind the counter seemed a bit lost! But the worst part was that we had to wait and eat under the sun at 104 degrees. ☀!!!! SIMPLY because the Sunshade outside the store was barely open. People would order and then go sit in nearby shops. WAKE UP!!! We were sweating like crazy, and many people left... and that guy kept flirting with the Brazilian girls sitting at the table next to him (yes, I speak four languages, including Portuguese). It was truly a terrible experience! I hope I'm wrong about him... I really wanted to talk to him or someone in the store, but my wife...

I've been getting iced cortados all over city for 5 years and only question I've ever been asked is "how much milk would you like in there?"! I know many people who order them! Never a problem. I don't mind that woman at register wasn't sure what to charge etc so asked someone else but when that person then acted like it was I was asking for something extraordinary, plus saying he has to charge extra because I said it's usually just a little more milk than a cortado (I didn't even insist on the extra milk as I could see it was an issue!) and seemed annoyed and unhappy with my request, I thought this is just bad service. Then he handed it to me without a word when I said thanks! I was in the food industry and know people who continue to be and no one I know or have ever encountered would care that much over a few mls of milk! Or act with hostility. Not only will I never go there again but I'll be telling others. It's not rocket science.. it's a drink! And a smile and positive demeanor would have equaled a tip, positive review and telling people to frequent the...

Tap NYC is my go-to spot for authentic Brazilian flavors. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a HUGE smile and the delicious aroma of pão de queijo (cheese bread) baking in the oven. The pão de queijo is simply irresistible – warm, cheesy, and perfectly chewy. The Brigadeiro - chocolate truffle - is handmade and exceptionally good and Michaelle, as a Brazilian, knows exactly how they should taste. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making you feel at home! They have a special way of brightening my day every time! Lucas speaks multiple languages and is always happy to explain everything about the menu! If you're looking for a taste of Brazil in NYC, this is a true gem that I can't recommend highly enough. Só vai Galera! É um pedacinho do Brazil em NYC 🇧🇷🇧🇷

The matcha latte tasted above average but its microfoam could be improved. The latter could be an issue of consistency: our cup had a level 3 microfoam (large visible bubbles) while another customer had one with velvety smooth level 1 microfoam with no visible bubbles. The crepes are tasty overall. However, none of us like the taste of the topioca wrap. While tapioca may help with gluten intolerance, the sales pitch that it is a healthy energy boost is debatable. Tapioca is essentially pure carbohydrate and is definitely not ideal for maintenance of weight or blood sugar levels. Everyone at our table enjoyed the tomato soup. Nevertheless, we are unsure if the soup is made fresh as we saw the staff refilling the soup pot with a carton.

Interesting place. I’m actually trying out a paleo diet, so I walked in because of their Tapioca crepes. I also ended up trying their yucca sticks, which are like fries. This stuff was great. I had the carnitas. They add a ton of pork. The yucca fries were actually good. Even if I was not on this paleo diet, I would have enjoyed it. It was different and good. Oh, and their coffee is good too. It’s from Irving farms. Space - small place. Most tables are for two people but you can fit 4 on some. Prices - somewhat reasonable. Service - staff was friendly. Food - see above. I liked it. Warning, it’s different. Families - tough to fit a large family and I don’t see my kids loving this food. But it’s up to you! Caution: No bathrooms!
