Presentation is amazing. I haven't had crossing the bridge noodles in the states until now but this definitely sets the standard high. If you aren't served and are ready, you can scan a QR code on your table to order and send it to the kitchen. We waited a bit but no one came so we opted to just order online and it worked smoothly, food was delivered in a prompt manner. I wish there was more customization with the small plates you mix in or something, but I'm not the pickiest so it wasn't bad for me.
The bulk of each noodle soup consists of a large stone pot of your chosen broth (bone, tomato, spicy, or hot and sour), a bowl of rice noodles, and a bowl of meat. Alongside that, you get 9 small plates of sides to mix in and a bowl of lettuce. It seems the small plates can have variety from time to time but they include stuff like smaller vegetables (relish, corn, green onion), a small egg, shrimp, and ham.
Tomato broth was really rich and seems like a popular option. It's kin to most tomato dishes you might see in an Asian household (such as tomato egg stir-fry) which means nothing is unexpected and you're truly getting a broth of tomato. The bone broth they use is very light and I know it can be 50/50 about whether you like a lighter base or something more flavorful, so keep that in mind with both the original bone broth and spicy bone broth.
I was also interested in the boba here and when searching through the reviews, couldn't find much. The boba itself is really good! It's chewy and has a faint sweetness to it. The milk tea wasn't bad either, though I think it could be better. Main downside is that you're paying the regular price of a large boba at other places for a small cup here. Also, the "Boba Fresh Milk" is more of a brown sugar boba. Most brown sugar bobas are non-caffeinated using milk and brown sugar, so I think they just left out the brown sugar in the name, potentially...
Read moreI’ve ate at this restaurant many times. The customer service has gradually gotten worse.
Yunnan rice noodle is served with rice noodles, hot soup, assorted raw vegetables, and assorted raw meat. The server usually bring the meats and vegetables first. Then, the hot soup and rice noodle is brought out a minute after. You have to mix the raw vegetables and meat in the hot soup in order to cook them.Today was an exception.
During lunch hour I was seated right away. There were only 2 tables in service. The place was near empty. I order the usual, the Original Cross Bridge Rice Noodle. The waitress did not ask me for drink. I had to ask another waiter for water. I forgave the waitress because she might be new. When my waitress came out from the kitchen, she handed me my raw vegetables and meats. 20 minutes passed I did not receive my soup. Keep in mind the assorted vegetables and meats are raw.
Three customers came in and they received their food right away. I asked my waitress what was going on, she apologized for the delay. During the next 20 minutes I’ve asked 2 different waiters for my soup. They also apologized but my soup was not served. After a total of 45 minutes (I kept track of my time with parking meter) I asked another waiter what’s going on. Apparently my waitress forgot my order. I was furious that other customer who came later got their food before me. My waitress hid in the kitchen and didn’t want to apologize.
I left without eating and without paying tip. Based on today’s experience they lost a...
Read moreThe pork broth with rice noodles and meat LACKED the rich complex flavors of a deeply flavored broth base that I have come to savor.
The broth flavor was good but weak (lacked the flavors brought-on by sufficiently reducing the broth to concentrate the flavors). The $12-$13 dollar price was reflective of that.
The rice noodles were extremely over boiled & did not have the proper chewiness. My order was brought to me within 4 minutes of placing with the server, which seemed to indicate that the noodles had been pre-cooked somewhere in the back.
The service was poor. During my 30-40 minute visit, I was not checked on once to ask if I needed anything or even a drink refill (even with the seating at 10 percent percent full, plenty of opportunities). The front-end manager stood around holding his hands behind his back with an authoritative posture & Expression, pacing past my table, which felt a bit awkward.
Free green tea was served at the start of the meal which was appreciated. Strange tasting Tap water was also served with no ice.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the lighting/seating was comfortable. Although the service and food were unimpressive, I'd return because of the affordable cost &...
