Last Friday, at approximately 3 PM, I stopped in to meet with a friend who was running a little late. At the counter, I politely and cordially asked if I could use their restroom before making a purchase, as I was waiting for my friend. However, I was respectfully denied, and I understood their position. I stood off to the side on my phone to wait inside because it was cold outside. Literally no more than two minutes later, I was approached by what seemed like a manager, who passive-aggressively warned me that if I didn’t make an immediate purchase, I would likely have to leave the premises. They weren’t even busy, and I was mindful not to block the entrance or cashier space.

All things aside, I’m a native New Yorker and work in the service industry, so I understand the struggles of dealing with the public. Still, I can’t help but feel that there may have been some kind of bias in the staff’s actions. I frequent this coffee shop from time to time to do work, and I’ve never experienced anything like this before at any coffee shop. I’ll probably continue stopping by occasionally, but I think the staff should have a better judgment of character and be less presumptuous and more professional towards people who don’t fit their traditional customer demographic.

They also got my whole milk cappuccino wrong and added oat milk, and they upcharged me even though I referred to my milk option as "regular milk" instead of "whole milk." I didn’t want to complain because I already felt ostracized and...

Beware of this place !!! I would never purchase from this coffee shop ever again . The women manager there is very rude, I believe her name is (aja ) or something to that nature .Upon walking in I ordered a bagel with butter toasted with the gentleman behind the counter . She happened to be sitting down in a chair as if she shouldn’t be behind the counter to assist customers . I proceeded to the counter to pay, in which she then proceeded to get out of her chair to assist . After paying I asked for a cup with ice , she rudely said “wait” . It prompted me to say “what is the attitude for” . I waited patiently however, I noticed she proceeded to give me a small cup with ice water when I just asked for a cup of ice. I politely asked if I could have a cup with a lid and I only wanted ice . Instead of showing professionalism she screamed “no I can’t do that “ . I said I don’t mind paying for it “how much “ she said “one dollar “ in which I gave. It then dawned on me that I don’t have to spend my money here if the service here is going to be bad in which I asked for my money back . I have been to this shop before and have never experienced such disgust . Not to mention I am 8 months pregnant and was asking for ice to hydrate myself . Shame...

This Easy Village coffee shop crams a lot into a relatively small space. Coffee, cakes, sandwiches, bagels, juices, smoothies, wifi and couches can all be found here along with trendy serving staff who subscribe to the 'wearing hats indoors' trend that is so popular nowadays. There's plenty of seating but that doesn't make it easy to find somewhere as the place us usually crammed with laptop-toting students - so much so that there are signs on several tables enforcing a no-laptop zone! Coffee is a selection of espresso and drip varieties and not bad, juices and smoothies are varied and reasonably priced for the area. Food is a little overpriced in my opinion but interestingly they often sell the leftover sandwiches from the day before for 50% off. My favourite part about visiting The Bean though is that it's dog friendly. I like nothing more than dog-watching while sipping my "Hangover...

I stumbled upon The Bean this morning, and I'm so glad I did! This charming coffee shop has it all. The open space is inviting, with a peaceful atmosphere perfect for studying or meeting friends. The staff are friendly and unobtrusive, letting customers enjoy their experience without unnecessary chatter. The menu is impressively diverse, offering organic smoothies, protein shakes, bagels, bowls, scones, muffins, and more. I opted for a delicious bagel, but I'm eager to try more. The artwork adds a playful touch, with quirky pieces like Mona Lisa in a rocket ship (genius!). But what truly sets The Bean apart is its thoughtful approach to customer interaction. Their "Gem Wristband" system allows patrons to signal their openness to conversation or desire for solitude. Brilliant! Overall, The Bean's unique vibe, tasty treats, and considerate staff make it a standout spot.

The unfriendliness of the service staff during ordering was striking from the very beginning. There were three girls behind the bar who were moving and doing something, with such a face as if they were doing me a huge favor by taking my order. One of them was the closest to us, visitors, showing unshaven armpits under her arms with hair sticking together from sweat... It was all together disgusting, disgusting and put me in a stupor, as it was the most disgusting service in all the years of living in New York. .... And I just returned from a vacation in Europe and wanted to drink coffee "at home"... the coffee turned out to be dirty-colored water with milk, although I ordered black. I never finished it because it tasted terrible, despite the milk ((

I’ve been coming here for years, and today the manager tried to tell me I have to make another purchase to stay. There’s literally nobody here, and I bought something the minute I walked in, just like I do every time. It’s so weird. This place would be great if it weren't for him. 😂 The manager acted like he needed to make space for nobody. It’s Saturday at 3 PM, and the place is practically empty. He needs to get a grip. Then he tried to claim I’m not a regular, which is crazy—I’ve racked up so many loyalty points! As you can see in the video -- theres nobody here. I hope it wasn't a race thing !
