The Mayfly — Restaurant in New York

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We were sat for a full hour and never received our food. We ordered 2 appetizers and only received 1 after about 45 minutes of waiting. We never got refills or received soft drinks we had ordered. Our server never checked on us and was shocked when we didn’t have our food the few times she did manage to come near the table. She kept saying their kitchen is terrible. We sat there so long they actually tried to bus our table. We told the bus boy we hadn’t even got our food yet and he still proceeded to take our silverware. He said he would bring more but never did. So after over a hour we just asked to tab out on our drinks and spinach dip. She still made us pay $11 for spinach dip after never receiving any other food/drinks. We never once saw a manager and barely saw our server. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Highly do...

I recently hosted an my birthday at The Mayfly, and it was an unforgettable experience! The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly, from the planning stages to the end of the night. They were attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making sure we had the best time possible. Every detail was taken care of, and they were always there with a smile whenever we needed anything. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the food and drinks were a huge hit with everyone. I couldn’t have been happier with how the night turned out—thank you, Rory and the Mayfly, for helping to make our event so special! Nice bar for groups! They have big tables and you can reserve them for an event like our friends did. As most bars do, it does get quite crowded and very loud right around 11p. They have a DJ set up by the door (they maybe do different DJs different nights) and this DJ wasn’t our fave: played problematic artists’ music and also a whole upbeat Chappell Roan medley and then immediately into a quiet folk song. Very strange choices but overall a fun time and the cocktails list is great!

We did not eat any food, so not sure if there is anything vegetarian or vegan friendly at this spot. Honestly...
