Choosing a place to dine during these pandemic times can be a hard decision. It has been nearly two years that I adventured out. I am sure glad I did. Visiting the Meatball Shop was the highlight of these past two years. The atmosphere is charming as well as the staff. I think most people do not realize how integral the staff is to the dining experience. Our server was so much more than just that, not only was Julio the server but also the bartender and host . His recommendations where spot on. I had the rigatoni with meat sauce and 3 traditional meatballs. I could not have asked for something closer to home cooking than my dish. I started with the crispy calamari with marinara. It was perfectly prepared. Carmelo the head chef paid our table a visit to explain what goes on determining the menu. I am glad he did and he does an incredible job. My dining partner who had the roasted salmon with broccoli and risotto was equally impressed. Perfectly prepared and plated. The dining experience was so great that we were there for nearly 2.5 hours. I would happily do it again. On a side note we found out they have a separate party room with a bar, guess where my next party will be. The general manager Joe did an incredible job choosing his staff. I cannot wait to return. Great food, reasonable prices, and a great staff is what I look for. Bravo to all that make the Meatball Shop a great casual place to dine. My advice is run don't walk or pick up your phone to order from the Hells kitchen gem. Ciao for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Meatball Shop in New York, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel right at home.
The menu is centered around meatballs, but there are so many creative variations to choose from that I had a hard time deciding. Eventually, I settled on the gluten free chicken meatballs with pesto sauce, and they were absolutely delicious. The meatballs were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the pestonwas super flavorful.
What really sets The Meatball Shop apart, though, is the customizable aspect of their menu. You can mix and match meatballs with various sauces and sides to create a unique and satisfying meal that's tailored to your preferences. And let me tell you, the sides are just as tasty as the meatballs - the polenta and wedding soup were both outstanding.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is also great - it's cozy and intimate, yet still lively and energetic. It's the perfect spot for a date night or a night out with friends.
Overall, I highly recommend The Meatball Shop to anyone looking for a delicious, unique dining experience in New York. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu...
Read moreMeh! .... definitely don't do veggie meatball...it's sadly a bland mushy lentil ball; needed crunch element or calling desperately for some flavor. This will probably never be reviewed by the restaurant because they too big to care . However sending this into cyberspace to warn all those diners out there.
Our waiter we originally had wasn't able to take our the remainder of our order so another waiter came by , said he's not vegetarian and loves veggie meatball: eats it all the time, and oversold me on veggie meatball saying it was fantastic. 100% confident it's the worst vegetarian item I've ever eaten anywhere in my whole life!. Very disappointing considering previous meals have been decent years ago, and considering it's called the meatball shop , and that's what they supposedly specialize in, you'd think they'd perfect every type of meatball on their menu by now. They have a bunch of locations so by now the menu should be resolved and the cost for four meatballs definitely doesn't justify the soggy paste they served and called them meatballs. They didn't swap it out or comp part of the cost; it's now no longer a small specialty place. It's too bad and quite disappointing as we came out of town...
